Pros
- People, people, and people
- Managers who recognise work
- Excellent culture and management emphasis on collaboration
Cons
- top heavy management teams with limited growth opportunities beyond a certain level
- doesnt pay at market levels (they rather pay more for a new employee than increase comp of existing high performers)
- tends to be bureucratic sometimes
Advice to Senior Management
- Great place to work
- HR processes and benefits suck (really!). how can you have an HR team that is ok for managers to pay more for new employees than increase compensation for high-performing employees in the same role? How can maternity benefits be optional?
Pros
High Caliber employees
Learning and Development
Work/Life Balance
Philanthropy
Benefits
Cons
Salary and Bonus are not as competitive
Promotion process is not consistent
Management styles are not consistent
Advice to Senior Management
Do more to ensure the Credit Suisse management model trickles down to absolutely every person and manager so that the culture as a whole can truly express itself as Proactive, principled and partnered. There are some managers that just manage and do not lead and fail to promote the type of engaging environment Credit Suisse is known for.
Pros
Culture is conservative overall, and the institutin has stayed largely udner the radar in terms of credit problems in the current crisis.
Cons
Favorites rule, way too much diversity. Advacnement does not depend on what you accomplish, but how well you play the political game.
Pros
Paid their bills on time.
Cons
Cold environment. Obtuse, uncaring management. Cheap -- wouldn't even provide office supplies.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn to manage people.
Pros
CS has an excellent culture
Cons
Employees are not at the level I expected them to be, intellectually
Pros
Good corporate culture. Hard-working/helpful people. Ability to learn more stuff.
Cons
Employee work does not get appreciated. Cannot involve/talk with the upper management directly. Have to go through proper channels even though the answer is quickly required.
Advice to Senior Management
Please at least see how the employee performs.
Pros
A company appearing to offer many opportunities to make meaningful change. There also seems to be general encouragement of free speech
Cons
The culture encourages no change and blame avoidance. The level of cronyism has reached unheard of heights. The budget system results in short-term thinking and unnecessary duplication, while missing investment in more important areas. Despite corporate messages about the importance of human resources, own staff are often treated worse than contractors. Long-term loyalty is not valued
Advice to Senior Management
Make up your minds whether it should be One Bank or two. Fix the broken budget system. Stop tolerating cronyism. Invest in changes that really bring benefit rather than in permanent problem analysis. Consider banning Powerpoint!
Pros
Great benefits, flexible schedules, people are friendly for the most part. Met some great colleagues here that will be solid future connections.
Cons
Inexperienced management, those promoted weren't qualified
Advice to Senior Management
More in-depth training for managers and associates
Pros
Benefits and the People. Work hours are ok
Cons
IT technology is very outdated
Senior management needs to stop giving surveys and actually show some results from previous surveys
Advice to Senior Management
Practive what you preach.
Pros
CS is a Bulge Bracket firm.
Cons
Management could work to better communicate.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on better communication skills
