Pros
Good stepping stone to another job some where else.
Cons
No work life balance what-so-ever, you will work 80 hours a week, and weekends.
Salary is lower then other banks, bonus is a joke. Absolutly incompetent management, especially in IT in Raleigh.
The Raleigh office is an out sourcing initiative for the NY office. In Raleigh, people are just for cost savings, you have no career, and they do not care about you; you are only there because you are cheaper then someone in NY.
Advice to Senior Management
Go back to management training.
Pros
Opportunity to work at a global firm. Opportunities do exist for those who really put forth the effort to be noticed and move internally within the company.
Cons
In the Raleigh office, the compensation is entirely unfair. They are doing their best to truly make this a "low cost" backup site for New York so much so that they are stealing many of the employees. It is no surprise, they recently upped the base salary for all ops analysts and specialists as they were being well underpaid. This trend continues upward.
Advice to Senior Management
To truly abide by the compensantion policy where the top performers are truly paid like top performers.
Pros
Opportunities to travel/collaborate with colleagues in international branches, good amount of training, support of work/life balance, intelligent/hard-working colleagues
Cons
Senior leadership somewhat inexperienced, lacking outside understanding (their career advancement typically only within CS), poor downward communication
Advice to Senior Management
Understand the nuances of the local environments (branch locations), modify operations and corporate culture to match
Pros
There is a good work and life balance, preached and practiced. Certain positions have job autonomy. Retirement plan/Benefits package is on par with competitors.
Cons
There are minimal growth opportunities. Some positions become stagnant. Top down communication is not provided in a timely manner. Some areas have longer hours than advertised. Most areas have no set structure for an employee's promotion process.
Advice to Senior Management
There should be more growth opportunities and better communication.
Pros
Only a paycheck. Nice cafeteria and the grounds are nice.
Cons
Bungling management and a cutthroat enviornment. Lied to coming into the position and no training support for over 6 months and then only a minimum effort. Mangement really not qualified and usually come from within the company with little or no experience in the role they are promoted to. Worse still is they lie about their qualifications and insist they have experience when it is clear they have no clue. I would not recommend anyone to invest their time working for Credit Suisse you will only be disappointed later on.
Middle management promises to get involved to make things better but then drops the ball and ignores the problem.
Advice to Senior Management
Wakeup discover why there are so many people leaving after a short time with the company. Surely it cannot be the employees who are at fault! Does any really care or are they only worried about SOX?
Pros
Good benefits, good vacation and holidays
Cons
Bad physical environment - too noisy. Developers are scattered around the planet and not enough is done to help them coordinate and form a team.
Advice to Senior Management
Ask employees for feedback
Pros
The benefits package is very good.
Cons
inflexibility, lack of respect for employees, poor management, micro-management
Advice to Senior Management
Management in Raleigh simply has 0 respect for it's most valuable resource---humans!
Pros
It beats unemployment, but just barely. Benefits.
Cons
Management is short sided. Company is stuck in the 1980s, can't wear jeans. A "good ole boy" network exists in the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Your employees are very unhappy and feel you are doing a terrible job.
