    Pros

HOOPP, some great leaders, great community, helping patients

    Cons

-Not thoughtful strategy, trying to go to big without getting the basics right. Place of nepotism and favourtism. Current employees not appreciated.

    Pros

It is nice to have the freedom of shift work. Dealing with different patients everyday makes the day go by faster.

    Cons

Although most of the staff is great some of them do come across as rude. I am not sure if it is because of the stress of dealing with patients that are needlessly rude to you.

    Pros

    Allows 8 / 12 hr
    RPNa have a Strong Union

    Cons

No RN Union so you know RNs are concerned about their win skin unless you happen to be in one of the many cliques on the unit ran by the young new grads. The floor is " HEAVY " so you must be in a clique to get assistance or you're on your own!!! Many doctors don't go see their patients in their rooms and write on the chart as if they saw their patients.

The Manager and Educator are inexperienced and appear to hire mostly young nurses that will not question them. The unit is huge and patient assignments are scattered all around the unit. The Unit " Bully " Coordinator is the worst. She could care less about the patients. She's happy to make nurses to take admission after admission as soon as a bed is available even if the bed isn't in the nurses block of rooms as long as a bed is open and Emerge can race against the clock to me their quota.

    Absolutely terrible floor to work!

    Advice to Management

Must I say except the obvious... Take some courses in management.

    Pros

The pay was really good, and the shift premiums are fair. CVH is non unionized, but keeps up with union standard pay rates. My manager allowed me to pursue my career goals by allowing me to reduce my hours to take an internship elsewhere.

    Cons

Working nights and weekends and holidays can get tiresome. But that's what you sign up for when you agree to be employed there.
