Current Employee – been working at Creighton University part-time for more than a year
Pros – Not too intense or competitive, focused on a family like environment, utilizing team work and efficiency through working smart rather than hard.
Cons – Once people get a job here they stay for a long period of time so it may be difficult to move up, but tuition reimbursement program allows for one to gain more training and greater potential future payoff as well as a great amount of current value.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Creighton University part-time for more than a year
Pros – You get 1000/month for working 10 hours a week.
You also get compensated for 9 credit hours per year.
(These numbers could change by year, but you always get at least 6 credit hours paid for, and at least 500/month. It just depends on how many GRAs there are that year and how much money they have budgeted)
You get to set your own schedule with the professor that you are an assistant for.
Cons – You don't always have work to do.... I guess this can be a Pro depending on how you look at it.
Really there are no cons.

Former Employee – worked at Creighton University full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Creighton is a nice university setting. Opportunities for employee development. People appreciate the Catholic and Jesuit identity of the university.
Cons – Advancement plan for employees is non-existent. It really depends upon whether you can make connections on your own. HR doesn't help out much, but it's small enough that you can make connections if you try.

Former Employee – worked at Creighton University
Pros – Great people work here; I felt like part of the family everyday when I got to work.
I loved my manager and senior management; they are great people.
Benefits were great: I got a masters degree essentially for free; paid time off and holidays are fantastic.
Flexibility in work hours for many positions.
Cons – Average employee age is approximately 50-55. Ideas from those under the age of 40 are ignored; I was told that I was "too young" several times when presenting ideas. Good 'ol boys club is alive and well here.
Afraid of change.
Salaries are well-below average; benefits are suppose to make up for low pay. (I make $10,000 more now after a lateral move).
There is no potential for promotion or advancement for 99% of positions.
Decisions from management take 3-6+ months.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to new employees' ideas. Don't be afraid of change or youth. There are better ways of doing something; never think you are the best...someone is always better.

Current Employee – been working at Creighton University
Pros – Caring atmosphere that feels like a family. May be the Jesuit influence as it's a kinder/gentler place to work. Thanks CU!!!
Cons – Working out of a budget crunch (signs of the time), but they are getting back on track. Wish benefit package a bit stronger, but so fortunate to have what I've got in these hard times.
Advice to Senior Management – I've got great management -- provides feedback, constructive critisim, provides leadership, and fosters my growth. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks CU!!!

Former Employee – worked at Creighton University
Pros – It is a fun place to work. I was only an intern while I was a student so my experiences may differ compared to a full time employee.
Cons – As an intern, you were responsible for all the grunt work.
Advice to Senior Management – In the athletic department, it is easy to communicate with management. They are always open for ideas.

Former Employee – worked at Creighton University
Pros – Overall Creighton is a great place to work. Co-workers treat each other like family, most managers reward employees for hard work, recognition is common across the campus, there are opportunities for advancement within most departments and across the university. The environment is very collaborative and innovative. The benefits are very good- especially the vacation time, retirement contributions, and tuition remission.
Cons – - For some positions, the pay is below the market rate for the Omaha area- taking advantage of tuition remission is a good way to make up for the lower wages.
- You also have to pay for parking.
- Some policies are from the turn of the century and need to be updated.
Advice to Senior Management – - Make the pay competitive with the Omaha area
- Make sure you are keeping the good employees and not driving them away
- Continue to encourage collaboration and innovation

Former Employee – worked at Creighton University
Pros – The benefits package is great! Tuition remission, health, retirement, plus other perks. It was a caring, team-oriented place.
Cons – The pay is not great and asking for a raise can be problematic due to the structure of their salaries and job descriptions
Advice to Senior Management – Nothing more to say: the managment was very open and caring
