    Pros

Some of the best people I have ever been associated with. Smart, very hard working, creative and highly ethical. Pay was good.

    Cons

We worked very hard, but we were building the company then. There were some politics, but isn't there always? My time with the company ended before it was sold to MSREF but much of the same management is still in place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Avenues of communication weren't very strong. I felt like top management was in a bubble.

Former Employee - Assistant Property Manager in Houston, TX

    Pros

The job was almost perfect. The ability to make decisions and be a creative problem solver is fantastic. There is an immediate level of resposibility and great deal of muli-tasking required for success - also something that I loved. The benefits were good and compensations above others in the market.

    Cons

The downside was that I was not allowed to take time off without a lot of drama. This is not a diverse company, they do not embrace or encourage minorities to hold managment positions. Unfortunately, this seems to be company wide. There is also a culture of elitism that is dominant in some of the buildings, but not all buildings - others are great. It really depends on where you are and who the property managers are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management should spend some time at the property level and investigate issues when things come up so they can see and understand where the real problems are.

    Pros

Great people to work for, have good benefits and compensation. You could take problems to other departments and managers and expect them to listen.

    Cons

The sale to Morgan Stanley was a difficult transition for employees. While the company did its best to limit the loss of jobs, it could have been communicated better.

    Pros

People, loved my work, great benefits. The overall company has a sense of family that I have admired over my tenure.

    Cons

Flexibility varied by department, no references per company policy for former employees, company has downsized over the last 10 years and the sense of family has not been as favored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

References should be allowed especially if the bridge was not burned and have positive relationships.
