Pros
Easy to sell and even easier now that they have android phones
Cons
No opportunity to move up even if you are the best nor salary increment, they change your bonus paid plan every 3 months aprox.,
Advice to Senior Management
Take care of your front line workers
Pros
you can make an ok comession if you have to stay at the store 60-65 plus operations , push sales, and do advertisment for your self. highest commession you can get is 1500 if you are in a good store but if you are in tier 2 or 3 store you might make about 700-900 plus your hourly. its alot of work, you would do great if you have no life but working
Cons
no feed back,10$ an hour for a manager, no vacation paid unless you work for the company for 12 months and you get 5 paid days, your insurance rate is so high, for employees they wont get paid that much as an hourly and commession depents on your performance.
Advice to Senior Management
if you just want to spend the whole day working then go there if you want to have a life dont recommend
Pros
benefits and medical and good pay
Cons
non-consistency, non-communication. their customer service, no training.
Advice to Senior Management
I believe that Crickets management should recognize the need to follow through on good plans. And that they should take more suggestions from the field about things that can help the company before implenting plans.
Pros
Easy company to work for and advance!
Cons
Not enough praise for employees
Advice to Senior Management
Need to treat all employees better!!!
Pros
Pay is good; people are in general pretty competent. Nice offices. Flexible work environment.
Cons
Product strategy is terrible. What exactly is the company selling? Constant shifts in direction. New products make absolutely no sense. Abuses its employees with constant demands on time with very little extra reward.
Cricket is a blame culture. It's far more about getting out of the way of the management bus which is constantly trying to figure out why revenues are not where they need to be rather than investigating why people aren't buying its products. Hasn't ever been cash flow positive because it spends its cash constantly changing product direction and building out new distribution channels for products that it forgot to ask if anyone actually wanted (Broadband, Broadband Mass Merchant, PayGo Daily, PayGo Monthly, etc). New Muve product is cool, but only if you've never actually used the Internet and seen Spotify. Again, rather than being the best at what it can be, it wants to be all things to all people.
Senior leadership is completely inarticulate. Doug H cannot speak publicly, at all. Nearly every one of his direct reports has been replaced in the last 3 years, including the CFO, CMO/COO, CIO, CTO. Have moved to a new regional presidents model which is driving competition amongst regions, which could be good, but the constant reorganizations drive uncertainly throughout the entire organization and constant senior leadership changes mean middle management is constantly being replaced as well. There's no solid base from which to operate. Individual contributors are allowed to stay but year after year are given completely new direction.
Advice to Senior Management
Decide what you want to be.
Pros
The pay is abve industry average- and it has to be for people to stay here. The company is in a sinking death spiral.
Cons
The most political environment that has ever existed, anywhere. Under no circumstances can one tell the truth or speak his mind to senior leadership. Performance doesn't matter. The opinion of your internal and external customers doesn't matter. You have to play their game or else.
Advice to Senior Management
Congrats on laying off the only people who had any clue what they were doing. Stop replacing functional experts with "managers."
Pros
The pay is fair and your co-workers quickly become your soldiers-at-arms. You get free cell phone service. They don't seem to have any measurable expectations or accountability and allow low producing reps to share your bonus check.
Cons
Monotonous, Non-stop work. Customer can be abusive and/or low class. Not much room for advancement, under-staffed, not much career development, everyone mostly looks out for themselves.
Advice to Senior Management
Dont be afraid to speak to someone besides your RBMs. The sales reps know what is going on and have some great ideas. Quit treating reps like leperous robots when you visit locations. Oh, and try to visit locations more that twice a year. Like the penguin said, what you flush down the toilet, ends up on our mantle.
Pros
Benefits and pay is good.
Cons
The leadership is always changing. With in five years of working for the company I have seen 4 GM's replaced,3 District Directors fired or replaced, and 9 Indirect Account Managers fired. The company experiments with new positions then eliminates the position right! I have witnessed this 6 times while with the company.
They Judge you by your position not your experience. They have rejected employees from interviewing for positions because of their title not realizing they had the experience.
Cricket does not believe in hiring within they would rather hire someone from another company. The average time a employee is in their position is 5-10 years, it is very rare to see anyone move up in the company or at least phoenix!
Advice to Senior Management
Pay close attention to your internal employees their is a lot of talent that is not being recognized.
Pros
your coworkers, I still have some really good friends from this place
a chance to see the inner workings of wireless
Cons
Not family oriented
not a good understanding of family life vs work life
lack of common respect amoung management and direct report
Advice to Senior Management
understand your direct reports better not just on a work level, get to know them personally so you can create a better working relationship, and have respect for them, same as they should show you, and praise good work
Pros
Good learning environment
Compensation satisfactory
Good Benefits programs
Helps on training and grow
Get to learn new technologies and networks
Cons
Small Company to work for
Not growing exponentially
Not good on Bonuses and employee compensation as compared to similar companies in the industry
