I have been working at Cricket Communications full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    (old Cricket)
    very employee friendly
    good pay
    great location in Denver
    Really cared for customers
The pricing will still remain one of the best in the business and now with AT&T network it has the best coverage.

    Cons

AT&T has acquired Cricket and is closing down San Diego and Denver offices
AT&T heavy bureaucracy will takes its toll
old Cricket employees get no respect in AT&T. Don't expect to get anywhere in new ATT structure since I don't have 15 years plus in AT&T. We'll become second class citizens.

I worked at Cricket prior to ATT buyout. It is a completely different company now!

    Pros

Excellent pay and solid benefits. Talented employees.

    Cons

No work life balance. Senior management changed their direction so often that marketing wasn't able to keep up with company's messaging.

I worked at Cricket Communications full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

After working there I know that I can deal with or put up with anything clients or management can dish out. The pay was decent.

    Cons

They are the type of company that grandly rewards those people who compromise their integrity, and do whatever it takes (no matter how dishonest) to reach unrealistic goals. It is made clear my management, all the way up to the regional director that numbers are all that matter and you job is very much dependent upon your ability to generate sales. This pressure leads employees to take advantage of the customer, lie, cheat and work the system so they can keep their job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider that fear can only motivate employees for so long, until they decide to get what they can out of the situation and the consequences be damned.

    Pros

    Possibilities for advancement are good

    Cons

Higher executives do not pay attention to demographics of stores and expect us to sell a lower income neighborhood $600 phones. Impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay attention to employees suggestions.

I worked at Cricket Communications full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This was by far one of the best professional experiences I've had. Great opportunities for personal growth and a fun company culture. The compensation was among the highest in the industry.

    Cons

At times, there was not enough focus on business strategy, operational process, policies and procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many lacked the courage to make tough decisions.

I worked at Cricket Communications full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Ability to move quickly on ideas
    Open to suggestions

    Cons

Lost in a sea of competition
Inability to scale from a cash limited and spectrum limited perspective
    Lack of vision

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They sold the company which made sense. However the new management/owner at&t is exactly that... new. They have replaced seasoned execs with some management consultants who don't understand the fundamentals of the business. It's a very impractical leadership team that doesn't seem to be making their numbers. Their advertising campaigns are juvenile and appeal to a 4th grader. I'd look for the brand to fold in the next 2 to 3 years and the executives to all get another undeserved chance for further wasting the company's resources.
