Advice to Senior Management
Instead of looking for profit to the company, management should try to create a work-life balanced life for employees
Pros
* Friendly colleagues
* Growing company, opportunities for growth is there
* Benefit package quite good (getting +1 day annual leave for every year you work, capped at 18 days or 21 days for managers and above, $600 flexible subsidy claim including holidays, air ticket, etc)
* Overseas travel / posting opportunities, especially if you're in sales / presales
* Close to nature (Science Park 2)
* Good food
Cons
* Salary not competitive
* A lot of red tape
* Employees of average standard
* Hiring process very primitive, which results in a lot of people unqualified for the job
* Stressful if you're involved in project running behind deadline
* No structured way to recognize dedicated employees, no talent development programme
* Close and uninnovative culture
Advice to Senior Management
Concentrate on people / culture / talent development, please do not be too profit-driven; should think for long term growth (growing the human capital / company culture, etc.) rather than short-term growth (profits + projects). CrimsonLogic has a good reputation as a software service provider, but a not-so-good reputation as an employer. This resulted in a lot of bright people leaving the company.
Pros
It has a reputation in singapore and a growing reputation in other parts of the world where its trying to expand. Other local recruiters would have heard about it.
Cons
The company is government linked and has been protected for a while. So it has not learnt to be very competitive; the middle management is not the best on the market as a result. There is a certain lack of creativity and overall the level of engineering is not very impressive.
Advice to Senior Management
Dont hesitate to let some people go to refresh the middle management level. Red tape can grind inovative efforts to a near halt; lets get some smarter people to look at our internal processes such as quality management.
