Pros
One of the best creative atmospheres there could be. They realize you'll be essentially living at the agency from time to time, so they make sure it's a great place to be. Gym with trainer on site, dog-friendly, kitchen stocked with snacks, sodas, tea and coffee. Very open and relaxed atmosphere with many casual meeting/brainstorming lounge areas throughout.
Cons
You must not depend on getting off work at 5:00. On occasion, don't depend on going home at all. The showers aren't only for the gym users. At some point you will not leave for more than 24 hours at a time. There is an unfortunate practice of rewarding those who look out for themselves more than those who support the team.
Pros
resume, big brands, awards, and culture.
Cons
lots of morons. they pi55 away money retaining worthless low level employees in departments like QOL. Big EGOS.
Advice to Senior Management
listen to your employees.
Pros
You work here for the excitement to be connected with brands that are intertwined with pop culture - CP+B contributes directly to pop culture and it's pretty exciting to be around. There are very smart people that work here, and you can learn a lot if you ask the right questions and always try to contribute. CP+B is a very pave-your-own-way agency, and things will not just happen for you - you have to go after them. They allow dogs in the workplace, so it's fun to see a furry face once in awhile.
Cons
Certain departments see VERY long hours, and sometimes they work around the clock. But that's advertising, and since some of the work changes on a weekly basis or is updated with the newest happenings in the world, it's natural that late nights will occur. It's pretty clique-y, which is okay if you're one of the cool kids, but can be frustrating if you just want to do a good job and go home.
Advice to Senior Management
Pretty good job making the overall vision of the agency's future clear to all, but not as obvious (and also not touched upon often) is how each individual department will continue to contribute to that overall goal.
Pros
Casual environment
Great perks
Dog friendly atmosphere
Cons
Office politics
They don't care about you
Advice to Senior Management
I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone. That place is a sinking ship.
If you decide to pursue a career with them, get ready to work long hours, kiss up a lot, and play the game.
Pros
Dogs allowed in office
Free food
Free rides to airport
Cons
Nothing that hasn't already been echoed by dozens on this site, the cons are all the same
My biggest problem was with management and overall lack of accountability of senior leaders
There is very little people management done by management
Don't expect performance review, managers aren't required to do them
Managers, as far as I could tell, were not held to any performance related goals so no accountability
Don't work in the media group, there are no media accounts and what little media does come in is usually a consultative role (weak growth potential due to leadership)
Egos abound, and fraternity like environment
Average tenure is 2 yrs, so you will always hear coworkers discussing about other jobs
Advice to Senior Management
Read this site. Do 360 degree reviews. Get managers the training they need if you intend to keep them when their subordinates rate them poorly. Show some guts and run a company not a fraternity.
Pros
Lots of smart people working on all aspects of projects. Awesome clients. Management understands work / life balance, and compensate you for long hours when closing out a project.
Cons
Advertising world requires long hours, heading towards the end of a project, things can get hectic. But the work and time is appreciated from everyone.
Advice to Senior Management
Management just needs to keep up the awesome work to motivate employees. There is a direct focus on keeping employees happy, and it shows.
Pros
If you are a creative working here it's a chance to skyrocket your career. BUt you'll work for it.
Cons
Long, hard hours. Phone calls and emails late at night.
Advice to Senior Management
a little more work life balance.
Pros
An incredibly integrated team of diverse talents and a seriously crazy commitment to great ideas. Verry humane work culture and really nice people. Genuinely committed to the 'one agency' model - all offices work closely together.
Cons
Very few systems and processes and real challenges getting people together.
Advice to Senior Management
Need more strategic consistency and rigor.
Pros
Nice "surprise" gifts and benefits
Free breakfast and other meals
A gym
Creativity galore
Interesting people
Youthful culture
Passionate employees
Great ads
Cons
long long long work days and weeks
very little ethnic/racial diversity
culture of never saying no to anyone or anything
Pros
you make what you want of it.
Cons
people who came up with the work have to share it along with credits
