I worked at Criterion Brock full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to move up from entry level position.

    Cons

Many problems in upper management. There is a reason for the HUGE turnover. Low pay, long hours. Most employees have not had a wage increase in years. Unqualified people hired for many jobs. They have branch manager with no flooring experience. The list is long my friends

    Advice to Management

Hire some people with actual flooring experience. There is more to an installation manager than just scheduling jobs!

I worked at Criterion Brock full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really nice people, great co workers.

    Cons

Management's lack of respect for co workers. Low salaries and no interest by Management to retain the best and brightest. Lip service made to support staff, but all talk and no action.

    Advice to Management

Sales is not the indicator of growth, profit is. Work with a low profit margin isn't profitable. Start looking at the bottom line after job is complete and make policy based on that.

I worked at Criterion Brock full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers Decent benefits Good location Positive changes have been attempted within the last couple years

    Cons

Poor management Poor work environment Executives ignore non-sales staff The corporate structure/process needs to be re-worked (from the ground up if possible) High turn over rate Multiple absenteeism

    Advice to Management

Treat (all) employees as assets not expenses. The morale is terrible and needs to be addressed ASAP if you want to stop losing employees.

I worked at Criterion Brock full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity for sales professionals, easy to grow territory as marketshare is on the lower end of things, Regional support from national account reps

    Cons

Lots of paperwork, hard to accomidate customer special requests or custom orders for popular brands, company' overall low inventory strucuture

    Advice to Management

Try on different shoes, focus on market share before expansion into new markets, make support staff step up and fulfill orders and maximize time of field sales by letting them sell and spend less time on reports and paperwork

  9. Great people, ethical company

    Pros

Very nice people from top to bottom. Opportunity for good compensation for Account Exec job. I was consistently told to err on the side of customer service and always do the right thing.

    Cons

I honestly cannot think of any. I'm no longer with the company for personal reasons, nothing to do with the company and would consider working there again and would refer friends.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Cons

No compensation, no raises. Insurance extremely poor

    Advice to Management

Make sure you remember that your employees are an asset, not a liability.

    Pros

Nicest people you will ever meet working there.

    Cons

Salaries are so out of line with market rate it is obscene. Not sure how they will compete for good employees when economy improves. Building is old, many employees supply themselves with space heaters to stay warm, workstations outdated and cause ergonomic issues. No training budgets, management is completely out of touch with what makes a company of choice for employees, or they don't care.

    Advice to Management

Create an environment in which people can comfortably do their work, give them the tools and supplies to succeed.
