Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Chicago (Belize)

Prosgreat culture is in its dna; the executives are smart, nice people who you'd love to share a beer with

Consthe talent pool has been severely depleted over the last 6 months

Advice to Senior Managementwe are in desperate need of day-to-day leadership-by-example from smart, serious, motivated senior talent

If you fit in perfectly, this is a fabulous place to work. If not, you're screwed.

Project Manager (Former Employee) Calgary, AB (Canada)

    ProsBig name accounts
Great opportunity to learn about digital advertising

    ConsCulture of over-work and heroics
    No respect for the individual
    Over-worked staff
Lack of real management oversight or assistance
Siloed approach to projects means development and QA struggle to be successful
PMs bear all of the responsibility for project success but have no authority to make an impact

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't lie about work/life balance in the interview.
Be engaged enough with the project team to help when things get tight.

The work you hard and long hours, but you get experience with major brands you won't get anywhere else.

Web Developer (Former Employee) Calgary, AB (Canada)

ProsGreat people to work with. Great brands to work with. You learn a lot; what to do, as well as what not to do.

ConsSlave drivers. Many long hours with no overtime or compensation. There is very high staff turnover here, so you do lose some of your best coworkers over time.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou need to work on standardizing time in lieu for extra hours worked. Even half an hour of time off for each one hour extra worked would go a long way.

Proslike every place i have worked at, lots of smart people

Calgary centric, with big chips on their shoulders.
Unless you are with the Calgary "In" crowd, forget about career advancement
they hire people then fire them after 2 years to keep the salaries down
senior leadership has been there forever and live in a platinum bubble
    sweatshop

    Great Work, Often Frustrating Teams/Leadership...

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsClients and work that I was proud to have in my portfolio, and a few people I've really enjoyed working with. No shortage of fun team-building and social events.

ConsDisconcerting frat-house like attitude among employees with overt favoritism among male employees. A lot of finger-pointing and drastically varying quality on accounts/clients? Management quality varies, teamwork varies account to account. Some of the best and worst accounts I've been on have been at CM.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
