Once was a ice hospital, going downhill rapidly

    Staff Nurse (Current Employee)
    Rochester Hills, MI

ProsNeighborhood focus, compassionate care providers, great team work among grass roots care providers

ConsLynn Ofgren replaced by Roy Powell in 2013. Mr. Powell is a relentless hatchet man who is arbitrarily cutting costs and staffing. Patient care is becoming substandard due to lack of staffing.

Advice to Senior ManagementSet goals for what you want Crittenton to be in the future. Replace Mr. Powell with a CEO who can work with your tem to get you there. Simply reducing care provider staffing only alienates your patients and many find care elsewhere.

    Great people

    Facilities (Former Employee)
    Rochester, MI

ProsI worked with some very intelligent and motivated managers and staff members.

ConsHealth care is demanding in its' profession and customer service.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnfortunately, "Hope" is not a plan, and the "Change" is proving to be worse than what we had.

Crittenton has allowed me to pay my bills

    Behavioral Health Tech (Current Employee)
    Kansas City, MO

ProsFor those interested in the field of nursing administration is very proactive about encouraging progression within the field of nursing. The teamwork of some employees is great, there is a family like environment depending on the shift that is worked.

ConsThose that have higher credentials or power behind their names demonstrate an overall lack of regard and respect towards those in tech positions. There is a lot of nepitism demonstrated by management, as well as a lack of general communication.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstand that many of the individuals working on the units have just as much education, talent and ability as you. Many are in these positions temporarily, or are transitioning to something greater this is a stepping stone not a permanent landing spot. Respecting others should be a genuine rule of ettiquette and shouldn't go out of the door because you are given an ounce of power.

Crittenton has excellent staff but lacks a supportive leadership team

    Nurse Practitioner (Current Employee)
    Rochester, MI

ProsThe competent health care provided makes it a positive working environment and systems implemented make it easy to provide good health care

ConsThe leadership can be unsupportive of the staff, and caters to certain physicians in ways that would not benefit the hospital or patients overall.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdvice would be to consider the nursing staff and systems within care there in addition to keeping physicians satisfied to promote a happier working environment.

    True team environment

    Staff RN (Current Employee)
    Rochester, MI

ProsI've always felt the senior ledership cares about the nurses. The nurses are the ones caring for the patients who are the ones choosing which hospital to go to. At Crittenton senior leaders seem to 'get' that happy nurses =better care=more repeat customers.

ConsWe just lost our self scheduling.

    Anice community hospital.

    Mammographer (Current Employee)
    Rochester, MI

ProsCrittenton is a smaller community hospital. You know the people you work at work. They may be your neighbors. Their children may go to school with your children.

ConsStaffing is low. It is hard to find people to cover your shift if you need time off.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork with the employees to serve the patients in the best possible manner.

    Constant fear of losing job

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe location is good. Most co-workers are nice.

ConsConstant change - I've had five managers in two years. No raises but increasing job responsibilities.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
