    Pros

People want it to be a success. They work hard to make an improvement and are helpful to those who work equally hard on solving the problems that come up.

    Cons

There is evidence of a high turnover, poor management communications, faulty progress reporting, and an old boys school mentality. President is not open to hearing differing opinions and is too confident in his, often taking the wrong tact with customers. Loss of contracts have occurred that resulted in layoffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your new managers grow into the positions and eliminate the old boys school mentality. Be more open to growing a team rather then short term view of personal financial gain from corporation.

I worked at Crompton Greaves full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Chilled out atmosphere, perfect work life balance, free lunch, snacks, tea, 9-6 fixed working hours, no late sitting, lots of holidays.. reimbursement for almost everything including your uniform and telephone bills! keep your boss pleased and you can rise up the ranks very fast!

    Cons

company is full of mediocre people who will get jealous and hate you if you are a smart fellow! And if your boss is one of them then you will be shown the door.. The PMS system is just for name sake.. A lot of non performers get promotion every alternate year just because they get along well with their bosses.. And yes there isn't much to learn since everyone is interested just in lazing around and drawing their monthly salaries

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring people from premier institutes if you can't digest them! The middle management is infested with highly mediocre people who have risen through the ranks just because of the number of years spent in the industry.. The PSU culture won't take the organization long and it's now for everyone to see

I worked at Crompton Greaves full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team of really enthusiastic and learned people. Great work life balance. Excellent hands on learning experience and a push to realize new and innovative ideas. Good management team and forward thinking bosses. Keen on working and exploring new fields and upcoming technologies. There's a high chance that you'll get to work on what you love. Awesome in house and external training opportunities.

    Cons

The management is a little stiff and slow in implementing new ideas. The company has very good values and legacy. The culture needs a lot of improvement, there are still remnants of an old bureaucratic vibe, however things seem to be changing. In the production divisions, there is a lot of risk aversion when it comes to adopting new technologies and new ideas. Many of the production divisions have their hands full with cash cow products to start thinking about future technologies and implementing new ideas, this could be a potential breaker for the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A overhaul of the current culture is needed. Unproductive things like uniforms and rigid timings have to go. Workplaces have to be flexible and should nurture collaborative and exploratory work. People should be allowed time for blue sky research and projects. Dedicated people have to be there that take new ideas to implementation. Hard decisions of when to retire a product and replace it with new cutting edge products should be looked at.
