Advice to Senior Management
Keep are products exclusive within are company. Great job with Product training, opportunity and we appreciate the nice trucks and equipment.
Pros
Crop Production Services gives us the opportunity to work with the best equipment and technology available, which makes it exciting and also challenging. The health benefits are the best Ive seen so far. I think CPS is in it for the long haul. Great company to work for.
Cons
I sometimes see communication problems between management and the skilled applicators and workers who also put in the long hours during the busy season.
Advice to Senior Management
Branch managers, operation managers, assistant managers need to be all on the same page if possible. I see too much conflict between personel during the rush of the busy season. And it slows down production. Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians
Pros
Work outside, different everyday, can be fun
Cons
No room to advance, little training opportunity
Advice to Senior Management
Develop a training program for motivated employees to gain skills to advance
Pros
largest ag retailer in north america, with lots of power to buy well
Cons
get lost in red tape
Advice to Senior Management
it's not all about the ivory tower, your success is determined by the average joe in the fields making your sales. safety is not the job just a part of the process. you have to have time to get to the fields not just answering the bureaucratic red tape.
Pros
There was a lot of freedom within your job. Also, I got used to business travel, which comes in handy later in your career.
Cons
I would go for weeks without hearing from a supervisor. Their headquarters was in a different time zone, so I had to wait until the later afternoon to talk about problems happening at 7am.
Advice to Senior Management
Stay in constant communication with your traveling employees. You should also bridge the gap between different employees so there is less bickering.
