I have been working at Cross Country Home Services full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Benefits are decent for a small company, 401k match. Small- all departments sit on one floor in the same building.

    Cons

This place is a circus. They have people stealing, sleeping with their bosses, lying, backstabbing- and these are the people they value and promote!!! If you want to get ahead, sleep with your boss. They'll fire your boss, then congratulate and promote you. Great lesson show the company, well done. The CFO does whatever she wants and is down right rude and nasty to people. Upper management is off doing yoga and playing golf while the circus acts are taking place. I swear you hear the circus music in the background when you walk through this place. I know someone who was looking for a job and couldn't get hired for nearly two years (for good reasons). A job opened here and guess who hired him- figures... Adding to the circus acts. I have NEVER seen anything like it in corporate America. Embarrassing. Run.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need a complete management facelift. Awful.

I have been working at Cross Country Home Services full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

This company has been through many changes over the past few years and has put together a great team of committed leaders to move it forward. The people that I work with are smart and talented and are making strides in improving the company's focus on the customer and the technology to support that focus.

    Cons

Some things are slower than I'd like, however the right people are in place to move things along. Compensation and benefits are good, and the organization really seems to value their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Its a good work environment. They do a lot of contests and activities to keep the employees energetic and positive.

    Cons

They expect a lot and they have turned into a call center environment with call goals. It becomes quantity over quality with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on the quality of calls rather than the amount of time spent on the call or on hold.

    Pros

The building as well as location was great. Some of the staff is dedicated, but I saw many of those leave on their own or get let go for no valid reason other than "cost cutting measures".

    Cons

The company is not very organized, and management does not appear to be in touch. Their is a lot of back-stabbing as well as talking down to the employees. Poor performance is accepted based on the position. Problems are deflected onto others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do what I did and get out

I have been working at Cross Country Home Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Not many unless you are one of the lucky new sr. management being hired in from outside. If you are in that group then the world is your oyster.

    Cons

No advancement - all the new management is from outside the company and have no clue or care for how the business works. Getting good hours is hard to do and you will work most weekends for at least the first few years. No vacation in summer. Out sourcing most of customer service this last year and looks like that will grow and reduce even the opportunities that were there before. Seems like the new management is working like crazy to fire all the old management who actually know what it takes to do this job. New managers are all about cutting cost to increase their bonus regardless of how hard it makes employees have to work to overcome the shortages in people needed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a minute to get a clue about what your people in their job and then you might understand that just because you think up a new idea it might not work since you don't understand the impact. If leaders would actually lead rather than walking around trying to look like they are leading, they might have a more positive role in the success of the company.

Fast growing company that cannot keep their act together and is loosing ground on their employees and customers.

I worked at Cross Country Home Services

    Pros

Nice corporate plaza in beautiful Sunrise, FL.
Main customer is Freddy Mack (government) which gives them a huge growth spurt, but won't last long.

    Cons

Management lacks the leadership and the technology know-how to take CCHS to the next corporate size level.
Corporate systems are a real mess! A myriad of disjointed technologies that don't talk to each other and unfortunately reflects on the bad customer service and the frustration of their clients.
Poor benefits. One of the worst benefits packages in South Florida market. Not competitive at all.
Loser's environment. Discriminates employees on "the floor" (customer service reps) and treats them as second-class citizens as opposed to "office" employees (management and IT).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest on the employees; treat them equally. Improve the benefits. Pay more competitive salaries across the board and not only to IT or management. Get your act together with the corporate systems.
