I have been working at Crowe Horwath full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people at Crowe are what set them apart. Being an employee at Crowe doesn't make you feel like a number. You feel respected and appreciated as a peer.

    Cons

Long hours, travel, and tight deadlines are a common occurrence. Also, the technology at the firm is a bit behind but efforts are being made to catch up.

    Advice to Management

Focus on retaining quality employees. When turnover occurs management should make a better attempt at understanding why the individual is leaving.

I have been working at Crowe Horwath full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really flexible with the ability to gain experience in industries you have interest in. Work life balance actually does exist in this company.

    Cons

Obviously, it goes without saying that the three plus months of busy season are quite exhausting. This is a constant for anyone working in public accounting though and it's not for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Keep seeking input from your employees and continue to show that you actually do care. This has been the one thing that sets Crowe apart from many other mid-size firms in the Nashville area.

I worked at Crowe Horwath full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-I had a great manager on all my projects so I enjoyed the work and the learning experience. -Good training and ability to work on different projects. -Diverse group of clients

    Cons

-If you are stuck with a bad manager on an engagement, could be very frustrating. -Hours could be long at times, but that is the same I feel with most CPA firms.

    Advice to Management

Invest in employee moral boosters. Have regular scheduled events to make everyone at the company feel included. Invest in employee happiness. It will go a long way.

    Pros

It was a great way to gain experience in the auditing world. Everyone was pretty friendly and easy to talk to and work with. It was an environment that I didn't feel afraid to ask questions when I wasn't sure what I was doing which was nice. It also pays pretty well.

    Cons

I worked the summer which isn't really a busy time for public accounting companies so there's not necessarily a lot of work for you to do at times.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to just continue listening to your current employees about ways to continuously improve the work environment and the company.

I worked at Crowe Horwath full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For public accounting, the hours were reasonable.

    Cons

It was difficult to learn due to the inconsistent nature of the work. Senior staff was less helpful than I was led to believe during the interview process. Feedback was given late.

    Advice to Management

More time should be spent developing new staff. Senior staff should be accountable for those working for them. More effort should be made to retain current staff.

    Pros

This company is fully invested in their culture and the employees. The company really takes its time to ensure that each employee fully understands Crowe's vision. I am grateful I get to finally have a company that believes and lives its values.

    Cons

None. After such a long search, I finally found home.

    Advice to Management

Continue to advance the One Crowe Vision.

    Pros

Great work-life balance even with high travel requirements for risk personnel. I would definitely recommend it for those looking to gain experience under their belt

    Cons

It is a rather small firm which requires a lot of travel. It is not a big four firm either.
