    Pros

The corporate culture at Crowe is better than other firms I have worked at. Partners spend money and time on morale and team-building related events to create a positive quality of life.

    Cons

The hours are worse than other public accounting firms in the area. Throughout the spring busy season (Tax) hours are 5-10 hrs+/week than comparable firms. Unlike other firms, may need to work Sundays near deadlines. IT systems and processes worse than other firms.

    Advice to Management

Invest in improving IT infrastructure. Software is dated and buggy, and hampers productivity. Company-wide systems would go down unexpectedly during busy times, without information on when they would come back online.

    Pros

Definitely the values system. Crowe personnel are some of the most helpful I've worked with. They really do care.

The company also takes its "invest" value very seriously; it invests in technology and processes to make its people spend less time fighting technology and more time being able to use it.

    Cons

Highly controlled and structured computing environment. (On the plus side, it's a seamless experience when connecting to company resources anywhere you happen to be.)

Crowe's people processes are very rigid and extremely thorough, which is great for go-getters and shocking for someone not used to the process.

Time is tracked down to the quarter-hour, as you might find elsewhere. If you don't come from a structured background like this, you might not fit in.

    Advice to Management

I realize everyone's very busy, but it would have been nice to have spoken to my manager(s) about my performance before review being let go.

    Pros

Much better work / life balance than big four accounting firms... Not much busy after normal busy season unlike busy all year around at big four firms.

    Cons

As the size of the firm is much smaller than big four firms, there is not enough resources when you have complicated issues and questions. You are pretty much on your own.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! Need to focus on home grown professionals.
