Former Employee - Support Staff in North Reading, MA

I worked at Crowe Paradis Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

*The support staff is delightful (the underlings, if you please.) *The coffee selection in the kitchen is decent.
     * The former CEO had a heart & a dream that all employees believed & worked hard to make a reality out of respect & appreciation for his "Magnificent Trajectory."

    Cons

*grossly understaffed. *emphasis on quantity & lack of quality. *advancement unlikely here. *popularity & who you know are your key to success here instead of hard work & loyalty. *morale is bought by free lunches & treats from Starbucks & an ice cream truck. *The current CEO speaks eloquently, but lacks the passion & vision of her predecessor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

*return your focus to customer service *make quality control a priority *truly appreciate your employees and consider their suggestions instead of throwing them right out the window.

    Pros

Early stages of the company were amazing, founder was a great leader and an inspiring manager. You didn't mind working 70+ hours per week for him.

    Cons

Politics galore. New leader promotes who they like, fires who they don't. Overtime "isn't mandatory" but if you don't work your life away they don't respect you. Low morale, employees don't trust senior team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get a new, respectable leader.

    Pros

It's a job. In this market, I guess having a job is better than not having one?

    Cons

It's difficult to call this a company. There is ZERO organization and it's all about who you know. But even that might not help you, especially when they hire new management who are just looking to make a name for themselves. Which is a bad strategy, considering how small this company is and how anything you do here won't help you if you decide to move on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With no opportunities for growth, and where churning out people is a more attractive plan than developing them, the best advice would simply be to close shop for good. IF anyone from HR reads this, I know it will only fall on deaf ears.

But for anyone else, please take this review to heart if you consider working here. The grass has not been greener on this side of the fence, and will never be for this company. Verisk should be ashamed to call this company part of their "family."
