Pros
Professional, friendly atmosphere. There is a genuine feeling of "family", which is why people keep returning to work there. Some have left and returned, as much as three times over the years. There is an "open door" policy, employee events to boost morale, cruise benefits, pension plan and retirement plan.
Cons
Financial compensation with your position. Pay freeze for the past few years, no "cost of living" increase with increased fuel prices. High expectations of productivity for staff without being compensated. Due to high health care costs, medical and dental plan is not what it once was a few years ago. Apparently, they changed health plans which are cost effective.
Advice to Senior Management
Please offer a "cost of living" increase and a merit-based pay increase, not based on seniority with the company. Also, create a "travel agent advisory board" which would include the top producers of Crystal Cruises. They would advise of latest trends and positive/negative input from guests to assist with market planning.
Pros
nice people, family like environment
Cons
good place too bad the pay is low
Pros
Great luxury, award-winning brand
Friendly employees
Matching 401k
Chance to cruise on a luxury cruise line
Nice office
Free swag
Cons
I couldn't wait to quit because my boss was notoriously difficult to deal with, creating high turnover in my department and interdepartmental feuds.
Low pay.
Ironically they did not offer a good travel incentive. Employee cost to cruise was about what you would pay full price for on a mass market cruise line.
Advice to Senior Management
Give employees a better discount to cruise, particularly due to low pay. Pay closer attention to departments with high turnover and try to address the issue before more people quit.
Pros
have fun there..partying every other night...meeting new people and guest...overall an awesome experience.....
Cons
pay is less..guest behavior is not good ...doe not treat well...also stay away from home for so long does not help
Advice to Senior Management
no advise it is worthless ....cant expect much by saying it heree....wont help anyone
Pros
Best Salaries out of all cruise ships
Paid Vacation
Good contracts
Cons
Other departments dont like you
Senior Management always has nothing good to say about the department
Advice to Senior Management
Get more in touch with all departments regardless of what they do we are all working to the same goal
Pros
To be a part of the Crystal Family!! Very friendly work environment, the crew gets treated really well, good pay, good benefits and relaxed atmosphere so that everyone is happy to provide outstanding service to our guests.
Very good company reputation, I can proudly say that I worked for the best in the industry! Definetely recommended!
Cons
Sometime too much politics due to the high expectations from senior managements and due the type of business we run with very rich customers. But not a big deal, every company with a prestigious brand and high reputation may work that way...so...who cares! I just loved it!
Advice to Senior Management
Some of them very "direct" to the crew, and so they didn't reflect the overall relaxed atmosphere and dialog that the majority of their colleages had.
Also communications sometime was lacking between corporate office and shipboard operations
