Pros
The staff is very accomodating. Although it was on the job training, they were very welcoming and willing to work with you and be patient. Also, it helps that the groups are small, around 4-5 people, and access to senior management is very easy and open. The work is challenging and different, especially in the current times. However, this may turn some people off since the industry Crystal River Capital is in isn't doing too well. The company has suffered, but has a very solid parent company in Brookfield Asset Management. The environment is friendly and not too intense, although it can get there at times.
Cons
The company is really suffering right now. Their stock price has dropped from twenty-two dollars a year ago to around sixty cents as of now. This is really bad time for the REIT industry and it is going to take a while for the firm to recover. However, they are doing a good job selling the rotten assets and trying to stabilize the balance sheets. Also, the room for advancement seems to be limited and since it is so small there seems to be the sentiment that you have to wait for the superiors to move before your promotion can be accomodated.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior Management just needs to guide the firm in a direction where they are in a position to recover from this current crises.
