I have been working at CulinArt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Oversee the overall operation of the food production kitchen and it's employees.

    Cons

Minimum materials to work with. Upper Management knows less than I do. Not enough money involved. Equipment needs to be replaced.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees, they work with the food and materials everyday.

I worked at CulinArt full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to inquire about jobs. They will hire because of need not because of talent. Promote within if jobs available.

    Cons

Upper management are condescending, hypocritical, and have proven affairs with other employees. Financials are very shady and not trusting. HR breaks a lot of rules and sometimes illegal acts

    Advice to Management

Be honest and straightforward. Be proactive and not reactive!

    Pros

    Great work/ home life balance.

    Cons

Not up to date on latest software, takes a long time for yearly review/ increase.

    Pros

Long term upward mobility in the company, decent pay, welcoming environment, helpful management, fair amount of breaks for the length of the work day

    Cons

The work day can get long, even with the ample break. I had to work a 12 hour shift, with 2 hours worth of breaks

    Advice to Management

Keep promotions within the respective kitchens or at least regions. It is sometimes difficult when a new chef comes in from somewhere far away and has a different method of working compared to the previous chef.

    Pros

a big privately traded company that has positions all over the US

    Cons

Everything else associated with this corporate scheme. To make an all too long nightmare story short, Culinart could not care less about employees and would throw you under the bus faster than you can blink. Nepotism is rampant. Stooping to get people to tattle tale then never confront you over an issue you didn't even know existed! It's a great place to work if you like feeling disposable and a piece of garbage. Also they would rather hire outside than promote from within because they could pay lower wages that way. So very sad when you peel back the layers and see this company is ROTTEN. Health insurance they offer is a joke and the dental plan is horrid.

    Advice to Management

Gee maybe care about the people who work and carry your company name instead of acting like you are too good because you make so much more money.

    Pros

Decent pay. Great management. Great communication. Lots of hours.

    Cons

Sometimes hours were too demanding. Not too many locations here so career opportunities are somewhat limited, although they are growing.

    Advice to Management

None- they were a pleasure to work for, treated everyone fairly and equally. Didn't look down on anyone. Overall great people, which in resulted in a great work atmosphere.

I worked at CulinArt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    alright pay for a cashier

    Cons

no communication between front of the house and management. As a cashier I was delivered food(often poorly delivered and had to clean huge messes) and was to sell and serve to customers with no knowledge of what I was serving. When we asked questions they were not very helpful and when we told them things such as we are out of plastic bags they didn't believe us..also,not a flexible schedule. I felt like just a number filling in a spot they had to fill management doesn't seem to care at all! very disorganized and stressful

    Advice to Management

    get it together

I have been working at CulinArt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Weekends off and set schedule. As far as anything else there aren't any pros so I am just filling up the 20 word minimum

    Cons

Lack of communication from General Manager. Doesn't respect what you have to offer as far as time, skills or abilities. Advancements were promised as "promoting from within" only to watch them hire from outside. Always overworked and threatened with your job. Health insurance is slightly better than just a trip the the ER. I have worked there for 6 months and have watched 2 executive chefs and 2 sous chefs get fired for incompetence in higher management. Food quality is stressed in every meeting. "We only use the finest and freshest foods" has been said countless times by countless execs and the GM only to watch pre-cooked and very poor quality food get ordered and served everyday. On top of that food that shouldn't be served to animals is pushed through as fresh...
