I worked at Culver's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fast paced work environment, friendly culture from top management down two staff. Scheduling is flexible around family and other stuff going on, so that is a big plus! Many are franchised out, and I was lucky enough to work for one that was well aware of this.

    Cons

Usually no benefits and paid on an hourly wage.. Promotions and raises are fairly low and far between across all staff and management levels.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate better across all staff for clear direction, training overall is pretty good, would of been nice to see a bit more compensation for those who work harder, etc.

I have been working at Culver's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The co workers are nice and friendly
    You get 50% off meals
    Can get days off

    Cons

Requesting time off is hard especially if you are sick you still have to call people to cover your shift and if not you get written up for it

    I worked at Culver's

    Pros

They have good scholarship opportunities for students that work there

    Cons

It's a fast food job. Doesn't give much REAL growth opportunity. Really not a career path.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing really. Don't be too strict towards your fast food employees

I worked at Culver's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They are flexible with work schedules. You do get discounted food and sometimes it's on the house. The regular customers are always fun to talk to.

    Cons

It is hard to move up the company or even to get a raise. In two years I never received a raise. There is always a lot of gossip and can sometimes feel like high school. It sometimes feels under staffed when we close the store and it takes way longer than it should to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a couple of extra people on the clock at night so that closing the store isn't so difficult.

I worked at Culver's full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible with scheduling with school, but not if you have another job. Hands-on daily training. Competitive pay.

    Cons

Under-appreciated by upper management. If you're in management, there's a lack of development and ability to move up with the company. Paid equally as someone in same position even if you excel over these people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They treat the employees awful. If an employee doesn't understand their training or what they need to do, management yells at them in front of customers/other employees. They expect you to come in on your day off regardless of what you have going on. No appreciation. No succession planning.

I have been working at Culver's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

*All coworkers and managers are generally friendly
*Can decide how many hours you'd like to work each week
*Can advance to higher up positions if you put in the hours and are willing
*Eased you in to the kitchen jobs pretty slowly so you were not overwhelmed

    Cons

    *Some mildly heavy lifting
*Kitchen gets hot, especially if you're working the grill or fryers
*Dirty work (dishes, sweeping, mopping, cleaning AC vents)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep doing what you're doing

I worked at Culver's part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great atmosphere and stress on employee well-being.
Corporate office visited several times annually to check the work environment with random employees.
    Promote-from-within philosophy

    Cons

Typical fast food hours made for some spoiled weekends that I didn't want to be at work, but I think that is difficult to classify as a 'Con' for a high school job.

I worked at Culver's full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Culver's is a family owned franchise business. The company provides training and support that enhances the people that work there. Fair, honest and fun to work for.

    Cons

Once in a leadership position it may be hard to advance. Compensation is top heavy with people at the top being paid above scale while people in the mid and lower ranges can expect little in the way of compensation advance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider paying people on the low end of the scale family supporting wages.
