Cons
Org is in a big dispersion pattern. synergy and whole team work split into different slots which is a big burden to provide better offering to customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Globalization somehow means localization. At least send best people to other countries rather than seining out a trouble maker.
Pros
A world leader in the (on and off road) heavy duty automotive engine performance and design. A mission statement ment for the future as well as today.
Cons
They manage thier own medical insurance. With a fund of thier own. It would be much better for the emploies if they were to buy a group plan. There are smaller manufacturers with better health coverage..
Advice to Senior Management
You insist that we all have "Treatment of Others" training. Yet after 25 and 30 years of employment you are squeezing any financial security from us by catering to WALLSTREET.. Our insurance sucks! To put it mildly. Scrap your insurance fund and buy us a real program.. Use a provider that does just that.. Provides your employees with satisfactory coverage. Some of your employees grew up with the Marlboro man and the Winston Cup. We grew up with this way of life. Yet we are looked at like some sort of large cost... It hasn't been me giving the people Chicken wings and pizza for recognition. Or Doughnuts. Yet it is us that has to pay.. Or they could try to get thier engineers to work rather than having a bunch of (MATCH BOOK ENGINEERS) or IE, ME TECHS. do it.. But we have to take care of Wallstreet. Well Wallstreet isn't building the product!!!!!!!!!!
Pros
Engineering intensive, great projects and tools
Cons
Location may be a concern for a college graduate
Advice to Senior Management
HR Must improve provide housing help,
Pros
Great pirks. Good bonus . Good team.
Cons
A number of senior managers are lacking the skill, experience and competence what is required for the position they were put in ( not advertised for other candidates). They live of the hard work , intelligence and dedication of their reports , and they take credit freely for work done by their reports. Performance is assed by the core values of the company not how you perform in your job. This culture is toxic to individual achievement. It rewards people who work just hard enough not to be disciplined, and celebrates procedural adherence over outcomes. Through over-adoption of 'best practice' in the market the company have created a system that rewards generic performance and does not confront or manage non performance, rather piles the work of the non performing employee to some one who works very hard already. Politics is rampant above the middle management line, and there's no sense of structured career planning or assistance with your future. Salary offered below mid management is not competitive with market value.
Advice to Senior Management
Must manage non performing employees for the benefit of all, the solution is not the take work off and give it to some one else. Credit and appreciation needs to be given to good work when it is deserved , not just on award ceremony once a year.
Pros
Great company with growth potential
Very intellectual
Professionalism
IT department is knowledgable
Software offered is great
Training is very thorough
Cons
Too many contracted workers
Diversity depends on the area of location; not consistent company wide
Too much politics in making decisions
Pros
A fortune 500 company. Leadership positions in many of its areas. Good compensation for the small town lifestyle. Company is in continuous improvement.
Cons
Bad location. The headquarter is literally five minutes away from corn fields. The culture there is very industrial and sometimes quite reserved. Offices need upgrade.
Advice to Senior Management
Good business strategy but seriously need improvements in human resource processes. Although it's an industrial company, it wouldn't hurt to polish the office a little.
Pros
Friendly environment nice people around learn a lot about financial and accounting skills. it make my current study more relevant
Cons
in the Columbus, IN can be a possible downside of this job, although i am totally fine with that. a big town, close to Indianapolis. not that bad
Advice to Senior Management
work-life balanced style is really good. should keep that. maybe more focused on the specific accounting and financial subjects to improve the profitility
