I worked at Cummins Filtration full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunities for personal growth encouraged. Global company with many opportunities to work in other countries. Company lives and breathes by it's corporate standards. Company promotes telecommuting as a benefit; however your boss must approve as well.

    Cons

Health insurance in one word - SUCKS. VERY expensive, too much to have to pay out of pocket if you have to go to the Dr for just a cold. Upper Management work 12-16 hours a day 5 days a week and then even on the weekends. Work-life balance is definitely off balance. President of this business unit is a shark, cannot be trusted; has own initiatives.

    Advice to Management

Set examples for your people to take a break every now and then so they don't miss out on their family life. It is important to shut it all OFF once in a while, and OK.

I worked at Cummins Filtration full-time

    Pros

OK benefits. The front bathrooms are really nice. The people in the Neillsville area are rather pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Poor management, poor work life balance. Poor health insurance. Must work every weekend. The building is always extremely warm, maybe because they vent there heaters inside the building. Management regularly recruits new college graduates with no experience and utilize them to drive the production and productivity with no understanding of typical production on a factory floor. The company also regularly wastes large quantities of money on million dollar projects designed by a single college graduate or individual who desires to own the entire project and is not asked or required to gather input from multiple people or disciplines to provide success for the company.

    Advice to Management

Starting acting like a company run by shareholders. Stop letting the plant management treat employees as though they have nothing to offer other than their Saturdays and Sundays.
