Pros
full training given and support throughout employment
Cons
long days work on your feet most of the time.
stressful at times
Pros
Helping people reach their fitness goals, empowering and streghtning women
Cons
no consistency between clubs, and no strong incentives to comply with corporate standards, hear this may be changing which will help improve business
Advice to Senior Management
invest in your business
Pros
My co-workers and most of the members were great. Sometimes the environment was a lot of fun especially when Zumba was going on. You get to workout for free.
Cons
There is suppose to be a coach in the circuit at all times, but when you work alone as I always did that's impossible to do. You are expected to do sales appointments, personal training sessions, and make a large amount of calls during each shift.
The worst part was harassing people to join. You are expected to ask members for numbers of friends and family so you can call and try to get them to join. You are also expected to call people who gave the club their number years ago and try to convince them to join/rejoin. You are expected to litter the community with flyers, as well.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide better training to employees, come up with more effective ways to increase membership, pay your employees more, and listen to their suggestions.
Pros
Own your own business with the freedoms that implies. Able to see real changes in women's lives, in their healh and productivity.
Cons
lack of support from corporate level during poor economical times. New programs at Curves are done at owner expense, but adds to Curves International bottom line. Then, the new programs are not backed by Curves International as promised, nor during the time frames promised.
Advice to Senior Management
Help owners with advertising and promoting new Curves ideas, rather than have the owners take all the risk and all the expense.
Pros
Easy work environment
the members were always nice to work with
Cons
this was a boring job
Advice to Senior Management
I think the reason i was hired was because the owner didn't want to spend her life there. maybe seem interested
Pros
It provides good experience for early learners
Cons
High turnover rates and low dedication toward employees
Advice to Senior Management
make up your mind, don't sting employees along
Pros
Become very friendly with the members, learn patience, workout for free and become close with staff.
Cons
Have to be very self motivated.
Pros
Easy to manage. Proven system.
Cons
Not a lot of suuport from the franchise
Pros
Easy to get time off
Flexible Hours
Get to Workout for Free
Zumba
Good sales experience
Laid back work environment
Cons
Pay is awful; worked there for 4 years with no raise. Other employees were there 10 years and still making minimum wage
Advice to Senior Management
Quit charging franchisees so much money and then maybe they could afford to pay employees or stay in business longer
Pros
Friendly clients, free work outs.
Cons
Underpaid, no guarantee that managers are well-qualified.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more careful with who you allow to open one of your gyms.
