Pros
I always have the ability to learn more skills and take on new projects. I never become bored or have to wait for the day to drag by. Each employee has the ability to give ideas to upper management about how to improve processes. Every employee is courteous and has a smile for you. The clients, vendors, and general contractors are happy to work with CSW, and you can see and hear it in their e-mails/phone calls.
Cons
The temperature is kept pretty low and it gets cold.
Advice to Senior Management
Upper management hopefully can take the time for vacations - they work too hard. Hire additional managers to take on some of the work load.
Pros
Great place to work, have never been treated more fairly. Very competitive, this place is not for those looking to retire!
But if you want to grow with a growing firm, you won't find a better place.
Cons
Parking is far from building
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work and keep firing those who want to skate.
Pros
Great people to work with and very friendly atmosphere with good moral . Beautiful finished product comes out of this shop. The senior management pays employees well if you show you are deserving of it.
Cons
There are a couple of cons, but they have good reasons behind them. Long hours and working on the weekends when the company is busy, but it looks good on payday. Rush, rush, rush, but it keeps the companies head above water, helps us get jobs, and keeps everyone working and out of the unemployment line
Advice to Senior Management
Be better scheduled with jobs and engineering to save the company money on overtime
Pros
Lots of overtime due to mismanagement of staff, diversity of projects, they hire people of all backgrounds (because they go through employees like a barracuda through a school of fish)
Cons
Lack of "real" employee safety practices, lack of accountability in management of employees, constant turnover due to knee-jerk reactions of management, constant use of materials from other jobs because materials not ordered or misappropriated, verbal abusiveness towards employees, lack of sanitary facilities, lack of adequate first aid products for employee accidents, lack of adequate training for machinery operation, lack of accountability of employee conduct while on premises and on the clock...need I type more?
Advice to Senior Management
Hire someone that seriously understands how to supervise, mentor, promote effective management, get rid of the nepotism and holier-than-thou attitudes rampant there, and treat employees as they should be...not as a disposable resource...
Pros
Good pay and benefits for the position.
Cons
The owner doesn't treat anyone with courtesy or respect. You always feel like you're on egg shells around him.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn how to treat and coach people.
Pros
The employees there are great to work with.
Cons
The owner has no respect for employees as people.
