I have been working at CyDesign Labs full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Refreshing: challenging decades-old assumptions of the CAE industry
Great senior management: visionary, execution-focused, approachable
Talented staff: the entire product team is experienced, capable, and driven.
Open & welcoming culture: dive in and contribute, expect to have an impact.

    Cons

Growing pains are evident. Not surprising--CyDesign has expanded to almost 40 people in a year, but the management team is adjusting quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's well-known that we're tackling a tough problem. But it's achievable and the result will have a big impact in the CAE space. Keep commercial goals visible and the team focused on execution towards them.

I worked at CyDesign Labs full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

CyDesign is nice place with friendly people and mostly good attitudes. The work environment can be a bit chaotic, like in most startups, but nothing too bad really.

    Cons

The CEO seemed uninvolved and didn't seem to understand actually getting product out the door. As a result development often weather-vaned from new idea to new idea.

I have been working at CyDesign Labs full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The Engineering team is highly experienced and mature (not a bunch of college grads). Senior management team has grown considerably over the last year and have a unique vision for the CAE, simulation, and design tools industry. It's a very collaborative, supportive environment with just a slight bit of wackiness to make working there not a drag.

    Cons

No one has attempted to do what they're doing, so everyone is expected to pave new roads. You have to be willing to deal with some changes and delays as the company trains the customer base.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More formalized, regular updates to the troops would be nice to drive better cohesion and excitement

I worked at CyDesign Labs full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The engineers are good, provide good mentorship

    Cons

Higher ups are mostly part-time, so there's lack of direction

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get full-time, exclusive directors and not be so top-heavy.
