    Senior Credit Analyst

    Senior Credit Analyst (Current Employee)

ProsBenefits are good. There is a 2 to 1 401k match to 3%. Good insurance. Other ancillary benefits not often found with other companies (legal plan, paternity leave, etc.).

ConsVery little opportunity for growth, promotion, or raises

Advice to Senior ManagementOver the course of my tenure, things went from bad, to worse, then to better. Process and policies have improved significantly over the past 10 months, but there are still no advancement opportunities.

    Things need to change

    N/A (Current Employee)

ProsCybersource is a great place to work for flexibility with personal life (Dr. Appointments, Sick, PTO, etc.) The people here are friendly and the Visa campus is really nice. Benefits are great.

ConsThere are too many senior managers in Cybersource and many of them don’t reside in the same region as their employees. This is a huge issue because most of your work goes unnoticed. The managers also are not held accountable for anything. They are literally non-participating and are usually not available during work hours, and you’ll only receive answers to your urgent needs after hours in email. They are the type that want you to do all the work and brief them after, which I don’t mind but nobody will ever know all the hard work you did because of that.

There are seasoned sales people who have been with Cybs for 12+ years, which normally would be a good sign. Not here! All of these sales people are completely unaccountable! They grossly abuse the seniority by never being in the office, attending meeting, or even answering emails regarding their own accounts. No exaggeration….I mean NEVER! And it’s completely acceptable. They are ONLY in the office when their manager comes into town which is maybe once a month. Cybs should use these people to foster a positive working environment and mentorship, instead they have completely missed the mark.

The original Cybersource employees are afraid of the Visa acquisition, rather than embracing it. Managers included. There is no real reason for this! Visa has been great to work for and has provided many perks and big company environment that Cybersource was missing. The reason for this fear is nearly all the original Cybersource team are lifers. Many of them have NEVER worked anywhere else, or come from such small companies that they don’t know or understand the big company culture.

Advice to Senior ManagementV -Please read between the lines and understand that the true work is being done right in your office, not by managers who are not even the same time zone as their team.

A great company to work for

    Solutions Architect (Former Employee)

ProsSmall company feel, with big company benefits. Excellent people and management, with a dynamic product.

ConsBecause the product offering is constantly growing and changing, things can be a bit hectic. Middle management is sometimes at odds with Corporate.

Poor Leadership with bullying management enabled in a parts of the organization

Prefer Not to Share (Former Employee)
    Foster City, CA

ProsMany opportunities for creating success, learn and evolve. A large percentage of smart/great people, being under Visa umbrella offers a lot of value and great benefits. CyberSource has the ability to offer more of what Visa offers to employees.

ConsSome earlier leaders that originate from the CyberSource leadership team are very talented and capable. Unfortunately some are allowing disconnected and unqualified managers to bully potential leaders for their own gain (trying to make others look bad so they can make themselves seem more valuable), holding talent back and hindering success for the organization. New opportunities to market tend to be blocked for capable team members, resulting in decreasing success that has opportunity to flourish. Either these areas of management need to see these issues, or they need to be 'seen' by other Executive Management as part of a larger problem. Symptoms have been surfacing, however they are being overlooked. Also greatly understaffed in some critical areas.

Advice to Senior ManagementEngage and embrace talented employees, and recognize that leadership requires integrity. Identify and remedy 'clicks' and damaging antics that are hurtful to some of your potential/key contributors. Team leaders should be seasoned and have hands on experience vs. 'talking to the experience'. Ensure your leaders know how to grow a successful team vs. simply having a team that 'belongs to them' (e.g.: keeping folks at a more junior level to retain their superiority). This company has a lot to offer, and can easily address some of the damage that is in play.
