    Good place to learn

Co-Op Engineer (Former Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsThe company focuses a lot on processes and documentation. The good thing is that there is plenty you can learn from people by reading about their work, and grow.
The San Jose office, being headquarters, expects a more formal culture. I'm not a big fan of wearing formal shirts and socks matching with shoes.

ConsHiring process is not the best, especially for new grads.
It takes a long long time to get used to the "Cypress" way of doing things, some of which are quite unnecessary.

    Marketing Communications

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsExtremely hardworking and excellent staff; much of the desire to continue at Cypress is based on the relationships developed over time. Archive of all documents very helpful for consistency of projects and historical knowledge.

ConsDysfunctional and highly political organization -- CEO, while brilliant and very successful, leads the company by intimidation. Goal alignment and strategy change frequently leaving employees in the dark.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore transparency between upper management and employees, plus empowerment of middle-tier staff to approve budgets and execute programs.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Most of my experience in the Semiconductor industry was gained at Cypress and will forever be in their debt.

Production Planner (Former Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsPositive Teaching environment, lifelong relationships were nurtured there.

ConsOver the years the bottom line has become more of a factor then loyalty to their employees.

    Glass is Half Full

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Bloomington, MN

ProsWorking in an ultra high tech company presents lots of challenges but when you are surrounded by smart hardworking individuals anything is possible.

ConsSometimes it is difficult to see the difference between whats important and what is urgent.

Advice to Senior ManagementPeople, people, people they are your best asset make sure they know it and they are appreciated. I once read "Employees who feel valued gladly will compete in the race, overtake the competition, cross the finish line first, and end up on the medal stand."

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
