I have been working at Cypress Semiconductor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of documentation, good teleconference tools around the world. Nice people at working levels.

    Cons

No employee and customer focus. Company operating around CEO. Abusive management and bad languages used frequently. 8am policy is hard for working families with young kids. Processes, memos and specs are overkilling. Groups compete against each other instead of doing right things for the company. Little collaboration between groups. No work and life balance.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employees and customers. Don't let good people leave. Think of big picture and do the right things for the company.

I worked at Cypress Semiconductor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is very little to be discussed here. Cypress Semiconductor provides a chaotic work environment that can for some prove to be a challenge. The reality of the situation at Cypress Semiconductor is employees subjecting themselves to unnecessary stress and toxic culture.

    Cons

    1) No work life balance 2) Abusive Management (TJR) 3) Systems are broken 4) Lack of innovation 5) Atrocious Employee Morale

    Advice to Management

Kick TJ Rodgers to the curb, dump his executive team of sycophants and bring in fresh blood. The company has stagnated over the course of the last 15 years, instead of innovating the company has continued to cut expenses and drive for increased efficiency with fewer headcount.

    Advice to Management

Management is not used to listening to advice.

I have been working at Cypress Semiconductor (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Good to gain experience if you are a fresh grad 2. Colleagues are very nice and smart

    Cons

    1. 8am policy meaning everyone starts working at 8am 2. Company is running out of ideas to grow revenue. 3. Very hostile leadership style 4. Departments waste a lot of energy to compete among themselves instead of competing with other companies 5. Very low pay and no growth opportunity

    Pros

Cypress offered a lot of opportunities. It is a small enough company that your voice can be heard, but large enough to have plenty of growth options.

    Cons

Aggressive company culture. Starting at the CEO level, the senior management was involved in micro-managing certain day-to-day activities.

    Advice to Management

Less micro-management from the top. Determine when a situation is appropriate to get excited and escalate your emotions and when it is ok to keep a level head.
