I worked at Cytec full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great team to work within.

    Cons

Communication between departments for critical projects is dismal at best. Parties who should've been kept in the loop never were, resulting in issues from time to time.

    Pros

If you are lazy and you know the right people you don't have to work. The job is not hard if you try.

    Cons

If you have pride, you have to pick up the slack of the lazy people. If you do not know the right people you are treated like a nobody.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to quit picking and choosing employees based on personal favoritism. Promotions should be based on merit.
