    I worked at D. E. Shaw India full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Free Food, Cab Service, In-office Gym and cab service. People stick around mostly due to the high salary

    Cons

Extremely bad if you are looking for technical challanges. Also upper management in India is filled with politics. If you are not in politics you won't grow. Off late people have start leaving despite the high salary because good people don't stand dirty politics. Hence the leftovers would create an even dirty environment in India for sure. Very little scope to move across teams/projects

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need a complete change of the upper management

    I worked at D. E. Shaw India full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Best compensation, best benefits. Amazing mix of people from various cultures.

    Cons

Bad Managers, The senior management seems to like people who brownnose them. No support from the front line managers even on huge projects.Bad Work/Life balance, 12-14 hours of work in the name of flexible work hours. No support to people after they leave the firm, in terms to giving them referral letters, apparently "They have stopped giving referral letters". Why? Because they feel like. Wasting money on parties.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please try to see what your front line managers are doing to the individuals in their teams. Some of the individuals are getting pancaked to give you what you want (not what is right).
