    Pros

Lots of opportunity to move forward and make a decent amount of money

    Cons

Work every weekend and most holidays, must group sales together to make the money

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to alleviate the homesickness of its agents. My management team is excellent...other than this issue I have a dream team.

I worked at D.R. Horton full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Nice co-workers.
    Benefits
    Clean office
Discounts on appliances, furniture from old model homes.

    Cons

Some of the middle-management was out of touch with reality and didn't understand processes very well. Made changes mid-stream and didn't realize the ripple effects of their actions and the extreme amount of extra work involved to make certain changes.

To make the changes, you had to work extra hours without pay.

No raises at ALL (3 1/2 years nothing)
Being told "You should just be happy to have a job here"
Being bullied into working late hours/weekends without pay at all.
No mileage reimbursement for personal vehicles
    Favoritism within certain departments

    No room for advancement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that everyone isn't a "yes" man that works with you. Take responsibility for your own actions and respect people of all employment levels and their personal TIME.

I have been working at D.R. Horton full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The product a sales rep is asked to market is first rate for the pricepoint. Awesome buildingmanagers for each community, and a management team that listens and looks before they leap into a community

    Cons

As with most builders, the commission only stricture. Need to find a way to pay trips salary plus bonus, or, at least continue to pay a draw against commission earned.
Benefits reasonable, but could be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revamp compensation package, otherwise, this of a great place to work

Former Employee - Sales Specialist in Birmingham, AL

I worked at D.R. Horton full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The pro's would be the insurance. If you were given time off to go to the doctor. A benefit is not a benefit unless you can use that benefit.

    Cons

The unnessary level of stress that is put on the Sales Specialist for no other reason than. The Sales Managers ego's that need to be turned down and a major attitude adjustment given.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take your Birmingham Sales Manager back to Fort Worth for training.

Former Employee - Sales Representative in Atlanta, GA

    I worked at D.R. Horton

    Pros

Middle management was open and supportive, benefits are good. In the right community, you can make some money and progress.

    Cons

Upper management is more interested in covering their butts than making any real headway. If you're stuck in a non-performing community you'll die there. Not all rewards are equal-favoritism rules.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the playing field even-reward loyalty and recognize efforts.
