    Pros

Great people and family culture, minus a few that come from past job bad cultures and chose to bring that here. So much potential of what it could be and mean to the future of businesses

    Cons

To many senior people at the very top that have not clue how to move us forward. Too many people who think we are a software business and not a data services. All that money and not one purchase of a technology startup to get in the social B2B and analytics game.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tell the new CEO to evaluate and reinvent the company like he did at his last job. Get rid of the people who don't have the stomach for re-invention and invest in those who do.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Have had some management change for the better. Customer's view of D&B is changing thanks to a new philosophy

    Cons

Operations is a bi@#h to deal with! Too many internal hurdles to overcome when trying to sell new solutions. New solutions not ready for market place...sometimes I feel like I am living a real life Dilbert cartoon

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the sales force. "Everyone is in sales" should be the mantra.

    Pros

Great work/life balance, money can be extremely rewarding if you have the right combination of portfolio, leadership, luck, and hard work.

    Cons

Strong leadership is very hard to come by. There are account/team leadership changes every year sometimes even more frequently. It is a numbers down company and unless you have a good boss, no one has your back. Watch you numbers very carefully, there are several vey unethical people and leaders in this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on the people, motivating them, and working on strengthening their skills rather than numbers ONLY.

Current Employee - Relationship Manager in Atlanta, GA

    Pros

Great people with a very friendly culture. Also a great place to have a career rather than a job.

    Cons

The current CEO is focused on numbers which is taking away from the necessary investments in the sales teams and product offering. The company also continues to invest in dead-end initiatives that have proven to be unsuccessful time after time such as New Customer Acquisition Teams and software acquisitions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure that you are investing in the people as they will drive the success of the business. If the resources are not available, your customers will not be satusfied.

    D&B Sinking Ship

Current Employee - Account Manager in Center Valley, PA

    Pros

Coworkers are the best part of working at D&B.

    Cons

Senior Leadership has no idea how to turn things around. Corporate is striving to hold onto market share, but sales team is expected to grow. D&B has no clue how to compete with competition. There is no long term strategy, only ideas that are acted on with poor results at the expense of their sales team. Most managers couldn't do the job as sales reps, but promoted since they can't fill the positions. Moral is at an all time low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house from top/down and bring in innovative people with technology skills. This regime is quickly sinking the once known leader in credit information. Create more products to sell so your sales team can grow the accounts.

Overall great experience, however corporate downsizing gutted the technical fulfillment team making things tough.

Former Employee - Sales in Baltimore, MD

    Pros

Best place for information bar none across the board....Risk Management, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain Management. Even with the changes their data is still the most robust in the industry.

    Cons

Downsizing had a negative affect on their most valuable asset which is their data and its integrity. Some of the enterprise solutions where hard value to communicate mainly due to high price tags. While worth it many companies still struggled with spending so much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to better understand customer needs.

Current Employee - Relationship Manager in Washington, DC

    Pros

Exceptional colleagues, interesting and dynamic work Great opportunity for career advancement, education opportunities, and strong work life balance.

    Cons

Disconnect with sales leadership and the front line, late to innovate, inept technology platforms. The company has lost its edge as a "sales organization" and needs to reinvigorate the sales force. Enagement scores are extremely low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus strongly on innovation, employee engagement, internal and external communications. The predictive analytics recalibrations are being well received, however D&B's role in "big data" and "global analytics" is an internal vision that is lacking traction in the marketplace since the company hasn't traditionally played in that space. Senior leadership needs to ensure mid-level management is helping their front lines reinvent themselves and the customer base. Senior managment is extremely operational, introverted, and the culture has become pervasive.
