Pros
The company has excellent people, great products and holds employees responsible and accountable for their performance. It also rewards outstanding performance by promoting from within.
Cons
Due to the loss of disposable income, the recession has caused financial difficulties for all premium consumer electronics brands, including those manufactured by D&M Holdings. This has resulted in widespread layoffs and several management changes at the top of the organization. These changes might have been necessary, but made it difficult to stick with an overall strategy and provide the resources required to effectively grow the business.
Advice to Senior Management
Cut back on distributors to resume direct relationships with resellers so the company can stay abreast of the changes resellers are experiencing in the market. Increase investment in online marketing and e-commerce to pursue higher margins and gain independence from resellers who need to provide more shelf space than ever to inexpensive brands.
Pros
it is a large company
Cons
there are many disgruntled employees
