Pros

Cons
Inept management, starting in germany and trickling down.
Advice to Senior Management
When you buy a company dont lie to your employess that you want to keep the US domestic product
going when in fact you did not. A 4 TO 5 YEAR LIE . Then send out a memo A WEEK before xmas (CLASIC) stating it will be over SOON " A realignment " At least your giveing these people a 2 month notice. Gentleman you could have done well if you let the Baxglobal people run the domestic instead of allowing foreign 20somethings who are completly clueless, but have a degree to run a division they are completely inept at ??.Yes it needed a few changes, this was not the way to go guys . To all dbschenker emplyees who are affected goodluck.
Pros
A steady paycheck, and apparently a good company to work for if you live in Europe or Canada.
Cons
Continued Layoffs and job insecurity. Complete shutdown of the BAX Global facility in Irvine 2010-1012, at least 600 jobs lost. Also additional 700 employees layoff at Toledo in 2011 due to shutdown of Air Freight division. Switch to Asset Less shipping company in USA.
Advice to Senior Management
Management skills are outdated. Little if no IT processes in place.
Pros
Good insurance. Fun environment not super strict. No over the top dress codes
Cons
Raises are few and far between. People can glide thru without working while others pick up the slack
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to slackers and do something about them
Pros
Decent benefit jpackage and overall comp plan. Outside sales has freedom but you better meet your quota. You will be put on action plan if you don't hit a very unrealistic quota that upper management does not share until far into the quarter. They are ALWAYS late paying quarterly commissions.
Cons
Bad management from afar and very inadequate and antiquated networking, systems and tools.
Advice to Senior Management
Support your people and offices around the U.S. and don't stab people in the back just to get ahead and impress the shareholders.
Pros
friendly colleagues in asia pacific office.
good work life balance esp when you need time off to attend to something urgent
Cons
lack of senior management communication on direction the co is heading
lack of open apprasial system
Rewards and compensation not competitive
Advice to Senior Management
Communication downwards
Review rewards and compensation package
Pros
Security
No financial problem
World wide and well known
Cons
No promotion to the higher level
Advice to Senior Management
Select and promote employee with their ability not just they are belongs to you.
Understand and support if they do work for you very good
