Pros

The middle managers sometimes allow the better employees to think and do the job they were hire for without micro-managing which translates into a better performance, creativity and productivity.
The medical/health and dental insurance are high-quality, as well as the 401(K) with matching employer’s contribution and the paid vacation time.

Cons

There is a cultural disconnect between senior management and other parts of the organization that definitely affects the motivation of the company’s employees as well as its level of staff retention. Moreover, the lack of diversity in the workforce, mostly Hispanics without knowledge of the English language makes communication inside the company a truly nightmare.

Advice to Senior Management

Start looking at other cutting-edge technologies like RFID that will let you survive in the marketplace instead of focusing only in barcode technologies. Also, if you do not improve salaries given the low motivation inside the company be prepared to an exodus once the economy picks up.
