    Pros

You work for human beings that you actually see and talk to. The partners are experts in their fields that genuinely care about their clients and their employees.

    Cons

You are working in a top-flight business with dynamic people that push themselves hard. That means, as an employee, you must do the same. It you can handle hard work you will like it, if not, you want to go elsewhere.

I have been working at DBS Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work-life balance. I always got off at 6pm sharp.
Above avg compensation level. It used to be higher than other banks but after 2011 its expansion reduced and so does the salary.

    Cons

There are lots of office politics probably because it's an Asian bank. You have to guess what others think, especially what bosses are thinking about. You need to be careful of using words.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to reduce hierarchies, give staff more discretion at work and encourage them to try new methods. the current culture is too conservative and nobody wants to change and improve.

    I worked at DBS Bank

    Pros

They would react to the macro trend very quickly, taking the initiative to improve the corporate brand. They treated the staff nicely and offered a lot of training opportunities.

    Cons

The career prospect was good for some departments, but not all. And they seemed to prefer recruiting ready-to-work talents from outside rather than grooming home-made talents, which was frustrating. The lower rank people had little promotion and advancement opportunities. Worked overtime every single day - 8:30am to 8:30pm at least, but maybe it is the 'usual' working hours for banking industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotion from within would be great.
