I have been working at DC Shoes full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing people with an immense amount of talent. Great opportunities to show and grow talents and experience. Located in Orange County, just a few miles from waves.

    Cons

Extremely held back by it's parent company and top level leadership. Retirement benefits are a little more than absent. Work culture and environment is bad with the constant fear of being laid off (10+ rounds within the past 4 years).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your captain is sinking the ship, mate.

Was a great place...then we got a new CEO and everything went downhill

    I worked at DC Shoes

    Pros

Discount, cafe, gym, co-worker benefits were ok but year after start getting worse

    Cons

No room for advancement. Great reviews year after year but only max raise in budget of 3%. People lack common knowledge and basic software; many people who's jobs are based heavly around excel and they hardly know how to use it. Constant baby sitting and following up with other departments because a lot of people don't own their responsibilities. Lack of any job security wondering everyday if your department will be the next outsourced to EU.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees. I spent many years at dc and was a great employee but the lack of respect for average employees is ridiculous since the new CEO took over. The brand is dying and all the good people are jumping ship.

    I worked at DC Shoes

    Pros

Fun, casual, colleagues are awesome! I was really lucky to have very rad bosses and the opportunity to work with witty, chill, creative, caring folks.

    Cons

Fun is great, but if you're searching for growth it can be difficult. With that said if you're a hard worker and do good work, being promoted isn't out of the question. Opportunities to be promoted depended more on the department and type of position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more workshops internally so employees can continue to develop their skills.

    I worked at DC Shoes

    Pros

The DC Shoes Brand is highly respected and they offer great incentives. If you live-to-work, a position at this organization would be a great opportunity for you.

    Cons

They need to improve their training methods and hire additional help as their employees are over-worked. If you work-to-live & enjoy life, beware...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are working 15+ hours of O.T. every week and so are your employees, you need help and you are eating away at the company's margin of profit by paying out gross over time.. Working that many hours every week is not a healthy life style and there will always be high employee turnover with dissatisfied employees.
