I have been working at DDB Singapore full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Real network, nice people, smart, passionate and good creative approach to idea generation. Would recommend to work here any day.

    Cons

Need better training opportunities, very award focussed instead of sales focused. Need a more processed approach to improve better ways of working.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the people, and you'll get a better product for the clients and increase the profits for the company.

Former Intern - Account Servicing in Singapore (Singapore)
Former Intern - Account Servicing in Singapore (Singapore)

I worked at DDB Singapore as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed culture, Great Colleagues. Had a chance to get quite a lot of hands on experiential learning. Learnt a lot about what goes into an ad. Ultimately its a lovely place to be a part of.

    Cons

Whilst most of the upper management were pretty civil. There was a particular individual who liked to impose his position and authority in order to get others to comply with his perspectives/tasks/views. Environment can be rather political at times.

I have been working at DDB Singapore full-time

    Pros

Get to work with nice and talented people - which happens to be the hiring criteria. People are professional and do their jobs well, so things can be made to happen, often in short timelines. Strong capabilities to deliver solutions across both traditional and digital media.

    Cons

While there are agency-wide training programmes, personal mentoring really depends on who you report to - most of the learning will take place on-the-job.

  6. Eye-opening experience into the advertising industry

I worked at DDB Singapore as an intern (Less than a year)

Established agency in SG with well defined roles and structure. Lively environment with helpful colleagues. As an intern, I was well guided by my mentor.

    Cons

    Long working hours were expected

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I have been working at DDB Singapore full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

One of the most creative agencies in SIngapore right now. Being a big agency also makes many resources available to you. As a creative you get a good support in terms of visualisers, photography studio in house etc as well as money to chase awards.

    Cons

It's huge and one can feel a bit lost there. It's supposed to be the agency of 'nice & talented' people but has started to get political as it grows. Also it's the most 'local' multi-national agency, great if you're Singaporean but most expatsseem to feel the cultural divide (eg people start talking in Chinese during a briefing). Also one of the worst paying agencies.

    Advice to Management

Rather than hire a million people and pay them peanuts, get a closer knit, well structured team and pay them better to get quality work done.

    Pros

great clients, people are really nice with a low ego level. A really good place to start an agency career. DDB sets the foundational knowledge in all areas of advertising.

    Cons

low pay, long hours, very little recognition. especially for all the trooper level - Account Executives to Senior Account Mgrs, everyone pretty much has left.

    Advice to Management

Give the troopers a career plan. They fought hard for you.
