    Not at all laid back

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe pay is okay, the benefits are good, and the wellness program is fantastic. There are opportunities to grow with the right motivation and connections within the corporation.

ConsNot very female-friendly. Administrative Assistants are ALL female, and treated like secondary citizens (WHEN acknowledged). Expected to respect those in higher positions without any respect in return.

    Good company, poor culture.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsDecent salary, great benefits, nice cafeteria, fitness center, great area to go out for lunch/shopping, very nice employees, lots of training classes available, flexible PTO time (varies with department).

ConsNo room for growth, very political, corporate environment to the max, unrealistic advancements for college graduates with zero experience in the industry, employees undervalued, very uncomfortable work environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees as family, not robots. These people are sacrificing their work/life balance to keep the market afloat. Develop equal opportunity for both men and women throughout the company. Pay closer attention to the loyal employees who have put great amounts of effort in, paid their dues, and have industry knowledge VS. the fresh out of college MT's who seem to climb the ladder much too soon. Find a better balance of being corporate, but without being overly robotic. Employees are spending most of their waking hours here, there's absolutely no need for the senior management to act above everyone else. After being with the company for nearly three years, that was the biggest complaint I heard throughout, management needs to be more personable to boost company morale and make employees feel valued.

Company is growing up to become one of the big boys in the REIT world.

    Property Manager (Current Employee)

ProsThey empower you to be innovative and run your property in your form and fashion. You are the captain of your own ship and destiny. They have a sense on balanced work/personal life.

ConsThis company is driven by the quarterly earnings report and how well the stock is doing. This sometimes leads the upper management to make directives that don't necessarily accomplish what should have really been done at the property.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep moving forward because the stock price is moving in the right direction but make sure that you keep your current work force engaged and let them know that there are opportunities in the near future. The work force has sacrificed a lot for the Company over the past 5 years and should be compensated above and beyond a standard increase of living.

    Typical Corporate Atmosphere

    Administrative Assistant (Current Employee)
    Beachwood, OH

ProsOn-site cafeteria and fitness center. Some perks from local businesses provided by HR.

ConsVery stiff feeling environment, no ability to advance within, new Sr. Management and Executives are brought in as interns or trainees. It's the chosen ones and everyone else. Budgets were cut drastically for the "everyone else" group and people are burnt out and dissatisfied because of this. It's a job, not a career for most. This is sad, because people used to love working here and the environment was more inviting, now we feel like we were cut off.

Advice to Senior ManagementShow some appreciation to the "little people." We are a loyal group and deserve to be treated as a part of the team. So many people feel as though they work so hard, yet they are invisible, my co-workers in the field are especially prone to feeling as not part of the team they work so hard for.
