  1. I am going on 2 years at DEEM and so far, it is a great company to work for! (Office Employee)

    Pros

Growing Business. Managers are always working to make their employees better at what they do. There is always something to do and something new to be learned.

    Cons

I cannot think of any big cons. Like any other company, there are negatives, but the positives far outweigh them.

    Advice to Management

Keep looking ahead to the future! I believe this company will continue to grow!

    Pros

Decent pay and health insurance/401K, 2 monitors at your desk, space heaters provided for when the office is freezing (which is often).

    Cons

Everything has to go through middle management. Employees aren't allowed to make any decisions at all, even minor, routine ones. Lack of training and communication within and among all departments. Company policies are nonsensical. You're just another number to the company. No reviews or raises ever. No room for growth, they'd rather hire outside the company than promote from within. Negative work environment. No positive feedback ever, just unwarranted criticism which leads to high turnover rates.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees to do their jobs!

I worked at DEEM (Indiana) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits with ability to take time off. Administration/HR has an over the top, phenomenal orientation. Great bathrooms...had to come up with something to get my 20 words in.

    Cons

No real direction, everyone seems to run scared thinking someone is going to take their job, poor middle management that flies by the seat of their pants on daily basis. The department I was in included yelling and degradation on a daily basis. Complete lack of business etiquette.

    Advice to Management

Growth is an excellent achievement for any company. Just make sure you are building on a solid foundation instead of one that is eroding in your absence. Unfortunately, the direction and leadership pales in comparison to the grand illusion of greatness proclaimed during orientation.

    Pros

The people that work in the field were always great people

    Cons

The company leads you into thinking there is no travel, and then one day they need you to leave the state for 6 months.

    Advice to Management

Try to put yourself in the field peoples shoes. If it werent for them, none of you would have jobs

I worked at DEEM (Indiana) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great salary and hiring bonus. Management is very good at selling you a good feeling to work for them and they are straight forward about your role within the company.

    Cons

High expectations for 50+ hour weeks and very little employee appreciation. Low morale with office and field employees. Not a "team" feeling, every man for themselves.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as assets, not liabilities.
