I have been working at DHL Express

    Pros

You can grow as fast as you want, you will learn a lot in a little time if you put attention to the details, you will know a lot of people from different areas and constantly get involved in challenging projects

    Cons

Pressure, most positions are asked to handle a lot of responsibilities and with huge impact. There is no process-documentation culture, so basically you have to start from zero a lot of processes what gives you the opportunity to be creative and to innovate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create Pre--sales figures, that handle paperwork process, and solutions development for the customers, and allow our Sales people to do the thing that we are all expecting: TO SALE. From Business Support side, im seeing there is a lot over their shoulders regarding processes (accounts opening, pricing, ops, etc) so I think would be really helpful to have figures to handle pre-sales and Sales rep can handle sale and post -sale (implementation follow up, etc)

I have been working at DHL Express

    Pros

Its a job that pays the bills.

    Cons

Training isn't what it should be for the position. Leads spend too much time socalizing and not enough time on the floor to help answer questions. When you are lucky enough to find a lead or supervisor to answer quesitons they are on the phone texting or on social media. (or they are going in groups to smoke and bash their employees. The hours are long and breaks are never on time. Good luck eating a meal in the 3-5 hour time line required by law. The days off are not together. You may have tues and sunday or another combination. The problem with that is that when you get off on sunday morning (which they claim is your day off!) you are exhausted and the "day off" isn't really a day off. Count on 10.5 hour days for evening shift. Getting first shift is tough. There is a reason the turn over rate is so high. Mgmt. Honestly; you are just there to work like a machine and increase their bonus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

remember your workers are humans and NOT machines. Your 8aph is insane. You push too hard and burn out your workers. Trust me. They're miserable and hate being there. Stop your dept. leaders from spending their nights smoking, texting, chatting in groups and have them dive in and help when the flow is heavy and be available. Teach your dept leaders laws on verbal abuse to groups of employees!
