Pros
DGF has a good work environment
Cons
Outsourced the Accounting department to India, just left "a few"
Advice to Senior Management
Look for good employees, outside of the "few" selected
Pros
Benefits are ok, facilities are great, & the pay is decent.
Cons
Coworkers are very unprofessional and act like they're still in high school. Mgmt is lacking in compassion, flexibility and fairness with a total lack of respect. Company over analyzes EVERYTHING. Company email is used as an instant messaging application...I've seen someone get 8-10 emails in less than 2 minutes.
Advice to Senior Management
Our personal lives and families are just as important as yours. Coming out of your office and walking the floor more as a way to decrease the constant gossiping while standing next to someone desk - who's trying to work - and create a more professional work environment.
Pros
Training, support, opportunities, global vision, communication.
Cons
Low salary and lack of career support.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on people and RH for current workers...
Pros
Good opportunities to growth in your career.
Cons
Lower salary and benefits. No criteria for promotions. Senior management very amateur.
Advice to Senior Management
Change Senior Management Team to people more professional, prepare to be there. Focus in people and not only in cost.
Pros
Resources abundant, Opportunity for learning and structured
Cons
Unrecognized and unappreciated skills in employees
require IT upgrades
Advice to Senior Management
Get to know the staff and provide opportunities
Pros
People are competent. Customers are diverse. Logistics is perhaps the best place to be involved with every aspect of the economy.
Cons
Change is a challenge and innovation is sparse. Communication among the DPWN divisions are not optimal. Leadership is in flux. Talent is not a measured asset.
Advice to Senior Management
Set productivity guidelines that matter to employees. Examine the details of individual assessments. Enforce standards for management to create effective performance measurements and foster talent.
Pros
Access to self training programs excellent
Helpful and respectful employees
Cons
Upper management overloads employees and does not compensate for dedication; promotes and supports by favoritism
Advice to Senior Management
Make the time to practice what you advertise to employees
Pros
- Global brand, very respected if you are into logistics
- Employee discount on courier services
- Adequate annual leave
- That's about it
Cons
- Interaction between management and staff and within employees are very weak, at least in my department
- They really need to upgrade their IT equipments...
- Extremely old and outdated IT system which looks like it was designed centuries ago
- No robust training program and colleagues are not very willing to teach. Not the best place to start your career at
- Company is always on cost-cutting measures... do not expect high pay, benefits, good pay increment or exceptional bonus
- The company is in the midst of outsourcing programs (as result of above measures) which makes our work more difficult than usual
- Management seems to try to improve workflow but often focus on the wrong issues... a lot of weirdly named improvement initiatives which are worthless and waste of time in my opinion
- Again, poor management.
Advice to Senior Management
Get real and get out of the shell. Treat and train your employees well and try to interact more with them.
Pros
Security, during the hard times they tried their best not to lay off staff. The senior management is very smart and run a good operations.
Cons
Limited room for movement and changing jobs.
Advice to Senior Management
Have a graduate or fast track program.
Pros
Good benefits, safe enviroment, nice new building
Cons
No interaction with "desk level" employees. You get recognition when something goes wrong. Local and especially regional management could care less about input from the team. The VOICE is an excusr to have lunch on the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Develope managers within and get rid of the current regional management as they have only their best interest at heart.
