I have been working at DIRECTV full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment where we strive to enhance each other to improve the quality of our customers service or sales call experience. There was a previous posting on this company. In a way this is an update. Training is not longer three weeks and you are thrown to the wolves. It is at least 4 and then about two weeks of nesting where you are monitored and helped. The information is NOT just Stuff in as fast as possible. If you are not understanding the information the trainer team will take plenty of time to explain it to you. The sips while they are busy are very helpful and there is now a split between sales and service. If your sales you gets sales if your service you get service. In the past several months I have never come across anyone who refused to take the call they were supposed to and still remain employees for long.

    Cons

There are times when the schedule is crazy and it seems like it can change a lot. Sups can be scarce from time to time but somebody usually knows where they are plus R&R is always there to assist as well.

I have been working at DIRECTV full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are friendly though it can get loud, the building is nice, free DirecTV and parking is free

    Cons

Training was bad, slammed through material so fast and thrown out into the call center sales que in three weeks. Supervisors were nowhere to be seen, especially when you got a call asking for a supervisor. I was told to just do what it takes to get them off the phone. Cell phones are not allowed to be used in the call center. A lot of calls you take aren't sales calls and those go against your close rate. Co-workers will refuse to take calls they should, they'd rather tell you to tell the person which leads to confusion for agents and the customer. I felt like I was in third grade with designated break periods and supervisors would start questioning people if they were not taking breaks at their specified times and were taking breaks too often with fellow co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Relax, be seen, do your job or do a job.

    Pros

Free DirecTV subscription, that is about all

    Cons

Very political, 'old girl/boy" network in hiring (at least for the MDU (Multiple Dwelling Unit) mdivision

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and pay them a liveable wage

    Pros

Customer interaction was often good. Hours often flew by. A lot of outdoor work.

    Cons

Long hours, 12+ a day is not uncommon. Occasionally dirty, some things are very repetitive.

    Advice to Management

Shorten the hours, go to 2 shifts.
