    Pros

    High growth comes from management aggressively looking for business opportunities as an on going mandate.
    Good financial planning and execution.
    Learning opportunities with both international exposures and local touches.
    Management perks.

    Cons

    High volume of work, long working hours create challenges to work/life balance.
    Business and connections are above all.
    Many old fashioned trading and souring management mentality folks from top.

    Need to have good governance model, benchmark against peers in place.

    Learning is fast and very solid, great co-workers, great team.

    Cons

    They do not have a very good internship program, they do not fully respect interns and their salary.

    Perhaps its best to clearly state rights and responsibilities before recruiting interns.

    Pros

    The DKSH fringe benefits are fair and competitive with the outside market.

    Cons

    My base salary was not fair and not competitive with the outside market. Cons were also enumerated in the 'Advice to Management' section of this review.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    • Provide support for employee learning and development. Managers often think of “Cost reduction and cost avoidance” but they should realize that untrained employees will cost significantly more to support than well-trained workers. By providing such, it will increase productivity and performance improvement, boost employee morale and retention.
    • Managers should also contribute in helping employees maintain their work-life balance. Managers should not be hesitant when employees request to avail their vacation leave/s. As a result, employees use emergency excuses to use their vacation leaves because the superior disapproves the filed leave/s or asks a lot of personal questions before approving the vacation leave request.
    • Make the Company an “Employee-friendly workplace”. This is important to help employees deal effectively with personal or family-related pressures while minimizing the disruptions such pressures can cause at the work site. Suggest bringing back the “Flexible Work Schedule”. Several companies are already using flexible work arrangements as a tool for retention and motivation of employees.
    • Provide competitive rewards/incentives and salary increase to non-sales employees (e.g. Rank & file, Supervisors, Officers). These types of employee will be more motivated and will help boost their morale and increase employee retention if they are being recognized in such manner.
    • As much as possible, avoid Performance Punishing. Managers tend to reward employees who perform very well with more demanding work. Superiors see this only as “developing the employees’ skills”…without even realizing that they are burning out their valuable employees. With this happening in the workplace, most employees leave. Some may stay, but the quality of some of their work deteriorates.

    Pros

    You get good 13 month and variable bonuses.

    Cons

    You can never get an career advancement in this organisation. They provide the best training to it's staff but can never keep dynamic individuals. Very much like Arsenal football club where they keep training the best young talent but can never ever keep them in their organisation. Extremely good place for youngsters to take as a stepping stone and learn as much as they can while there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You have to start looking at keeping talent and not rely on long servicing staff too much. Most long servicing staff are just there to pass time and cannot contribute to any new improvement and growth to the business. Start breeding young talent whom you have and nurture and keep them and you will get a more dynamic environment where results and success will constantly be achieved.
