I have been working at DMA Portland

    Pros

I have worked for DMA for around two years now. This is one of the few places I've found where hard work pays off. Yes, It's commission - which is great if you're actually a person that works hard and doesn't just put it on paper. I also love the training I've received over the years. If you like getting comfortable, find a different job; the training will push your comfort zones constantly. I feel like I have grown so much as a person and in performance over these last two years. Wouldn't change it.

    Cons

You have to work hard to move forward (crazy?)
You have to practice to get good at the skills (weird? )
You have to build relationships and spend time outside the office to gain trust and assets for networking. (Nuts?)

I worked at DMA Portland full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The work environment is great! Make genuine and lasting friendships. After working at this company for over a year, I gained experience in so many different roles that I wouldn't have gained otherwise. Learned sales, marketing, training, interviewing, public speaking, networking...etc....I gained a lot of confidence in myself.

    Cons

It takes hard work and dedication! Not a job for people that are looking to coast. In order to improve, you do have to dedicate time outside of the office which can cut down in personal life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loved the management. Sometimes what was expected was unclear.

I have been working at DMA Portland (more than an year)

    Pros

Not really any at all. I meet some great people that are no longer with the company. There are also some beautiful "business babies" now from inter office/company relationships.

    Cons

Too many to list. No benefits, no vacation, managed poorly, bro-atmosphere, to advance you have to be "the chosen one" or recklessly party, no moral compass for company, and you work 60-70 hrs a week or you are penalized (not sure how that's legal)
I would never recommend this business to anybody.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just stop, your pulling great people down with you.

I have been working at DMA Portland full-time

    Pros

None. They tell you of a false opportunity that does not exist. There are no pros under this terrible leadership.

    Cons

The relationships within the office are disgusting at best. How many hookups can there possibly be? Babies? There is little to no respect and is based on favorites. Forget actually being promoted. Also forget your life at the door, sick--who cares? Family emergency--it doesn't matter, you're still expected to put in your 12 hour days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    best of luck to you.

I worked at DMA Portland full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

everybody at DMA is really friendly.

    Cons

DMA Portland is entirely commission based and the job itself entails going door-to-door and sell CelturyLink products. There is no hourly wage and they demand a 50 hour work week including a mandatory Saturday shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more honest with incoming employees about the nature of the job.
