I worked at DMI full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Mgt salaries are good, hours are better than most in the industry. one weekend off minimun for mgt, no late nights and closed 4 major holidays a year.

    Cons

family owned business with second generation trying to make its mark on the company. Have taken the family out of the workplace. Changes are good that are going on it is the approach of upper mgt that needs to be addressed. Comments like if you won;t or can't do it the guy behind you will

I have been working at DMI full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You can submit your colleagues for company recognition. They know how to party.

    Cons

Management does not demonstrate that it values or respects employees. Communication is one-way and highly paternalistic. New hires are poorly qualified and require extensive hand-holding.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Deal with employees honestly, listen to them--especially when you're in unfamiliar territory--pay them according to their results, and treat them like adults. Respect your customers by making sure you understand their requirements and doing your best to meet them (no cutting corners).
