I worked at DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The park is beautiful. It is a great place if you love the outdoors. Great hiking, camping, fishing and sightseeing. I have no Pros for DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite. Well, maybe; DNC losing their contract to serve Yosemite National Park is the best thing that has happened for Yosemite and their guest.

    Cons

Management is corrupt, incompetent, dishonest and immoral; especially the HR department . A culture of bullying, intimidation, harassment and mobbing. This organization has no regard for employee rights, state or federal laws, health and safety. If you do not go along with the statuesque of corruption, incompetence and favoritism you will be targeted, setup and illegally terminated. This organization believes they are above the law. I am 56 yo, a solid work history, an Army Veteran and have never worked with such a despicable company and it's employees.

    Advice to Management

Turn yourselves over to law enforcement for your crimes. This goes for your New York offices all the way to Yosemite California. Your incompetence, corruption, dishonesty and lack of morals lost your a continued contract in Yosemite National park.

I have been working at DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I loved working in Yosemite but the concessionaire is not very good in keeping up with their employees.

    Cons

Not offering position back after said employee is released off of medical leave.

    Advice to Management

Get with the program when a employee goes out on workmens compensation and is returned back to work they should follow the rules and offer the position back to the employee out on medical leave.

    Pros

Lot's of experience to gain. They offer great locations. Room to expand resume and move up with in the company

    Cons

Personal life is affected by work due to the some of the remote locations. Lack of resources is also a problem due to being in remote locations

    Advice to Management

Better training is needed and more money invested in employees should provide better results with guest services

I worked at DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Outdoors in one of the most beautiful parks in the world. Surrounded by constant companionships, you are almost always going to find at least one person who you connect with fully. Peace and tranquility, especially in the Fall and Winter. Opportunity to practice or master a second language and work in a global environment. I miss Yosemite every day.

    Cons

The company can have some major internal miscommunications at times. During the summer the park is PACKED with tourists and so at times it is almost like disneyland rather than an escape.

    Advice to Management

Team leadership and spirit building training and exercises for new leaders.

I worked at DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Inept? Enjoy being disempowered and disrespected? Then you'll love DNC in Yosemite! If I had a daughter I would NOT allow her to go to work here.

    Cons

Living in a disgusting 75 sf room in a *condemned* FEMA trailer with residents who deficate in the community shower stalls. However, if you're *lucky* you might get a small tent to share with 2 other people. Keep in mind, chances are at least one of your new roommates will be a hard drug user or ex-con. My friend lived with a heroin addict!

    Advice to Management

STOP HIRING PEOPLE WALKING FRESH OUT OF PRISON. AND STOP PROMOTING INEPT FOOLS INTO MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP.
