    Pros

    DST-GS is a global company which allows you the opportunity to travel and move around in the company. There is a lot of flexibility within departments and the chances for growth are great but you have to be a self advocate and use the tools made available to you. There is on onsite Learning Management System which allows you to take online courses on the product and offers IT courses free of charge on your down time.

    Cons

    You have to advocate for yourself and be able to teach yourself if not the learning curve for the products and the systems is a lot steeper.

    Management is very approachable, however some times micromanaging may occur...

    competitive pay. great benefits. great teamwork among employees. Strong financial backing from parent company. positive work atmosphere. low turnover rate.

    Cons

    no training. subpar products. poor communication from upper managers. reluctant to pay out earned commissions. very little sales support in deals.

    Improve upon the products that do work. Create a sales operation that supports the sales team. pay commissions when deal closed.

    Pros

    Nice people and in a good market (order management systems). Location in Boston is nice as well. Vacation and benifits about average for the Boston area.

    Cons

    Company can't seem to get enough traction to do well enough to give the company and employees some optimism. Employee turnover seemed high.

    Pros

    Global company, very big on having all functions represented in all office locations. Lots of knowledgeable people with years of product and client experience.

    Cons

    Constant re-structuring means you never know what direction the company is going in. I had 3 bosses in the 2 years I worked there. Inefficient product development strategy means clients never get what they are asking for unless they are willing to pay up front and wait several years

    Pros

    Good office.
    Friendly colleagues.
    Good use of modern technology.
    Reasonably flexible working hours.
    Fairly relaxed atmosphere.
    There's more of a buzz now that sales have improved.

    Cons

    The Solutions team, which is supposed to set the direction of the Products, don't seem to know what Customers want and have little idea of what makes a decent UI. Thankfully, we are becoming more customer driven.

    The management structure is top heavy.

    Salary could be better and bonuses are small despite increased profitability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Consider putting the client and market first. DST's credibility, reputation and ability to expand is undermined by channel conflict without developing and implementing a client centered strategy. Perhaps breaking down the internal walls dividing the various DST branded solutions will help clients and the market understand your offerings from their perspective.

    These are a terrific team to work with. People who know their stuff. I've been here a year and I'm impressed with how the company has moved even in that time.

    Cons

    Hard to think of. My last company had free fruit. That'd be nice. But then they limited it to one piece per person and it all got too difficult... No, I can't think of any cons.
