I have been working at DaVita full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A great company with great tenets. My experience has been invaluable and the camaraderie with patients, teammates, and physicians is the main reason I stay at my clinic. Also the benefits are pretty good too. I still think Davita is a wonderful company and I cannot blame the company for the problems at my particular clinic.

    Cons

Laissez-faire leadership style. Patient census increasing, employee burnout increasing, quality of care decreasing. Hourly rate for RNs is at bottom of national average and is insulting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a profound shortage of leadership at clinics.

I have been working at DaVita full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Earn a generous amount of paid time off; no Sundays, no after-hours on-call; DaVita presents a positive work environment. Emphasis on good team work.

    Cons

Scheduling less staff leaves too much of a work-load on the staff & reduces the quality of care being provided to the patients. Adding responsibilities to the RN position with no additional staff support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please give more focus and funds to additional staff to provide the excellent patient care that we all strive to achieve and less on supporting the "beautiful corporate office" and flying us to large group pep rallies to try to improve team morale.

    Pros

They pull out all the stops when having a Teammate Event

    Cons

Lack of training and career paths - expect you to get a 60 hour a week job done in 40

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the TM's that have been there since the merger... they are far & few between now... but they are worth their weight in gold.

I have been working at DaVita full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

It's a nice place to get into IT.
    The people
    Tuition reimbursement is ok.
They buy lunch from time to time.

    Cons

It feels like I am back in high school.
non-technical management making decisions for IT
    Dead end careers
    (cult)ure
Core values are just words; our record breaking fine last year proves that.
They use every excuse possible not to give people raises.
Our CEO is almost treated like a cult leader.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop using the bro system to promote people.
Pay people at least market average.
Offer REAL training opportunities to people. A 5 minute LANDesk tutorial is a waste of my time.
