    Cons

I have been working at DaVita full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent Co-workers, great events and core values have great meaning.

    Cons

Management doesn't stick to the core values at all. Poor pay, Zero 401K, Upper Level get great bonus' and treat lower levels as if we are to stupid to see whats going on. Extremely political. Very top heavy company of which a lot of higher up positions are unjustified and glorified paper pushers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

401k, better pay and leadership that has a clue.

Worst company I've ever worked for.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at DaVita

    Pros

    They like feeding their employees.

    Cons

They don't treat their employees (nurses) and patients right. They work their employees to death and hardly give them a raise. They treat their patients like a conveyor belt and are more concern about productivity than patient care. No 401k, they are so cheap. Their dialysis machines are all old and broken. They call each other team mate but do not know what it means. Nurse turn over rate is very HIGH! Over all this company is money hungry. Don't be fooled by their mission, vision because they don't practice it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Step down from where you are standing and go interact with your employees. You will know how hard they are working. Respect your nurses and don't treat them like factory workers. Nursing and productivity don't go along. Nurses are here for patients first before anything. FAs get a crash course on human relations.

I have been working at DaVita full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great co-workers. Great patients. Free coffee.

    Cons

low pay. Never leave on time. Write ups given out like candy for simple things. Horrible management style/team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

work the floor for two shifts if you dare. Learn how to use the machines. See what it's like to be a tech for two days.

Current Employee - Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis in Dayton, OH

I have been working at DaVita full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great co-workers, most who embraced the concept of "team".

    Cons

It's all about the numbers. Sad, but true, it really isn't about what's best for the patient...it's about doing anything that makes the "numbers" (lab values, access rates, catheter rates, %signed up for Davita Rx) look good. We are hounding and harassing patients every day instead of steadily teaching, exploring reasons for non-compliance and encouraging them. Point-of-care staff are constantly criticized. Can't do enough. High staff turnover and no experience in the clinic. Too many responsibilities and not enough time to complete work accurately. HIGHLY outdated computer systems that don't even share data. Underhanded methods of getting rid of higher-paid/experienced point-of-care staff. Pretty obvious that this company is run by bean-counters and not folks with degrees/experience in healthcare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more $$'s going to the point-of-care (for staffing and supplies) and less to these "business" people who sit in ivory towers and write policies and programs that just add to our work and make our environment unsafe. Stop the hemorrhage of staff. Hire/keep experienced dialysis personnel. Focus on patient care. Not numbers.

I have been working at DaVita full-time

    Pros

Training is awesome and the Core Values are truly alive within the company

    Cons

$ is getting tight in dialysis so there have been extensive salary cost cutting measures in management and therefore extensive turnover.
