I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Dairy Queen was probably the most fun job I have ever experienced. That is saying a mouthful. At age 54 I have had The pleasure of many experiences. There One did not make a big fat wage but that did not matter to Me because of My simple Christian life I lead . If one truly enjoys what they are doing and being around the good people there, it does not seem like a job. I am truly blessed and humbled by My experience there. I am so thankful to have had that pleasure.

    Cons

My only regret is that My time working there was so short. I miss the friends that I made while working there! They were so much fun to be around. There was never a dull moment!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If only a person could make a living there, The sky would be the limit. More chocolate Ice cream ideas would /may increase sales all around.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very flexible with schedule, while being a student I needed time off for studying and family vacations. Learned good customer service skills.

    Cons

Minimum wage... Not many raises, and I believe I was hard working and liked by management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on giving some more raises. More steady schedules. Better mats for the floor. Organization is key, sometimes hectic with little not knowing what to do.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

good for a first job, and they were very flexible with my hours as I was still in high school. Fun environment

    Cons

There were no benefits, only received discount on break, minimum wage pay which s difficult for anyone but high school students to live off of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider some better type of benefit for the employees to attract more than high school students

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Worked with my high school schedule, generally a clean place to work, discounts on ice cream and hot meals.

    Cons

Management would play on Facebook and definitely played favorites. They often gossiped about other employees and you were always on call every weekend. Often times I worked more than the legal 20 hours for a high school student. No benefits for pt or ft employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your managers to be hard working and treat people with fairness. Offer benefits of some sort.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Had an excellent boss and was very flexible with the hours in an emergency or when you gave him a heads up in about a week before you needed them off.

    Cons

Some people weren't the greatest to train, and you could tell they didn't want to be there. They didn't get the concept of when you come to work, it's work life and not your home life that's full of distractions.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

it is a great high school, and college job. at first there is a lot to remember such as what goes in what blizzards as well as the other items. however the management staff is willing to help you out with all of that and before you know it you will have it down.

    Cons

it is hard work, customers can be rude at times but over all it is not all that bad.
